Gianni Masciarelli can be considered one of the most far-sighted winemakers sopra our country, realizing as early as 1981 the potential and value of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a native variety of the region to which the entrepreneur dedicated his career. A grape that he considered capable of representing the strength and identity of the territory, especially if bred and vinified sopra an innovative way. The choice – revolutionary at the time – to refine Montepulciano sopra barrique, thus made it possible to reveal the potential of this wine, contributing to changing the perception of Abruzzo enology sopra the Italian wine world. Under his guidance and, subsequently, thanks to his wife Litorale Cvetic and his two daughters, Miriam Lee and Chiara Ludovica, the company acquired the awareness and notoriety that allowed it to extend its vineyards sopra the four provinces of the region.

An ampelographic heritage translated into 22 labels, three of which, dedicated to the Abruzzo red, stand out for their personality and finesse: Litorale Cvetic, Iskra and Borgo Gioia. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Deposito Litorale Cvetic represents the most classic and traditional expression of this wine as it is the fruit of the union of multiple terroirs which, from simple soletto voices, appena che to compose a single, harmonious choir. Iskra, which sopra Slavic means “spark”, evokes the liveliness and energy of this vine from its name. Obtained from a single parcel of land, this typology aims to be nothing other than the most immediate, fresh and accessible version of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. But the jewel sopra the crown of Abruzzo is Borgo Gioia, a cru with remarkable aging potential, complex, profound and persuasive.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Deposito Litorale Cvetic 2020

Among the company’s best-selling and award-winning wines, so much so that it was included sopra the famous “Apogeo 100 Wines” of the American magazine Wine Spectator, this tuttavia Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is the most sincere expression of the territory, a true thoroughbred that combines typicality, structure and balance. The result of vinification sopra steel and subsequent maturation sopra oak for a year, the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Deposito “Litorale Cvetic” is a wine that I’m coming! excite and celebrate this land sopra a perfect way.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Deposito Litorale Cvetic Iskra 2020

From a single vineyard planted sopra Controguerra (TE), a stone’s throw from the Adriatic Sea, this wine is born, the modern declination of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo sopra the Masciarelli universe. Matured for a year sopra oak, with subsequent refinement sopra the bottle for 24 months, Iskra is an enveloping wine, very rich sopra fruity and floral taccuino acceso the nose and makes its softness and velvety elegance its strong points.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc Deposito Borgo Gioia 2019

A true cult wine of the company, this type comes from a single cru planted at high density sopra San Martino sulla Marrucina. Aristocratic and endowed with great complexity, thanks to a refinement that reaches 5 years between barrels and bottles, Borgo Gioia is a harmonious and profound wine capable of evolving over time sopra a valuable way.
