Carnival chatter recipe: crunchy and delicious desserts

Introduction to carnival chatter

The chatter, also known by different names such as frappe, lies and lettuces, are undoubtedly one of the most loved desserts during the carnival sopra Italy. These sweet and light sweets are characterized by a crunchy consistency and an irresistible flavor, which makes them perfect for being enjoyed sopra company. 300 grams of 00 flour 2 eggs 30 grams of butter 2 tablespoons of sugar 1 grated lemon zest 1 pinch of salt 2 grams of baking powder 50 ml of griffa ( rum, whiskey, wine) seed oil to taste icing sugar to taste

Procedure for the preparation of chatter

Let’s start the preparation of the chatter by creating a homogeneous and well -worked dough. a work surface, it forms a fountain with the flour and add the eggs to the center, the softened butter and a pinch of salt. Start kneading, also incorporating lemon zest and yeast. Gradually add the griffa, which will give the chatter a unique crunchiness.

After obtaining a smooth and elastic dough, it forms a ball and wrap it with plastic wrap. Leave to rest sopra the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step is essential to get light and crumbly chatter.

After the rest time, spread the dough with a rolling pin until a thin thickness is obtained. With a knife a cutter wheel, cutter the stripes rectangles of impasto. Heat the oil sopra a pan and fry the chatter until golden brown. Once cooked, drain them acceso absorbent paper and sprinkling with icing sugar before serving.
