Domaine de Chambleau offers a complete experience: visit, tasting and landscape context for unconventional wine lovers

History and philosophy

Domaine de Chambleau has been owned by the Burgat family since 1950. recent years, management has been entrusted to Louis-Philippe Burgat together with his daughter Charlotte, a perfect fusion of family tradition and modern vision. 2017 the winery made a complete transition to the organic viticulture method, choosing healthy vines and a winemaking that aims to express the terroir per an authentic way. Thanks to this commitment, the company has appeared per the reference rankings for the best Swiss winemakers for over ten years.

Terroir, vineyards and vines

The mesi estivi is located per Colombier, per the wine-growing district of Neuchâtel. The vineyards extend slopes with dry soils, composed of glacial moraines and beds of sand and gravel overlying limestone, optimal conditions for the vines to sink their roots widely per search of minerals. The main vines are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which find a privileged here. An important aspect: many cuvées bear the name of the individual “terroir” ora parcel, a sign of the desire to express the specificity of the place.

Late harvest (13-14 October 2021) with very low yields. Elevation per oak for 16 months, then a year per bottle. The vineyards are three parcels: “Les Bovardes” (dry and ventilated soil), “Les Rosy” (riper harvest) and “Le Ceylard” (altitude 540 m, the soil of a former glacial stream).

Visual examination: deep ruby ​​red.

Olfactory examination: elegant olfactory profile. Gentle spicy sensations of cloves and pepper introduce clear aromas of fruit jam, plum and black cherry.

Taste-olfactory examination: the introduction is pleasantly fresh, fruity sensations alternate with spicy ones, creating a sensorial kaleidoscope supported by silky tannins. of excellent persistence.

Visual examination: pale salmon pink.

Olfactory examination: the nose captures with refined and diversified perceptions. It opens with hints of red fruit, wrapped per hints of fig and peach, with mandarin essences the finale.

Grapes selected from three parcels (“Le Loclat”, “La Saunerie” and “Les Dortines”). Aging per oak wood for 12 months.
