Fratelli La Bufala: ambassadors of Campania cuisine in the world
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From Neapolitan rompiscatole to buffalo ciurilli: among native ingredients, Campania excellences and tasty proposals con the name of authenticity

Born con 2003 from an pensiero by Geppy Marotta, Fratelli La Barba is a chain of restaurants, strictly Made con Italy, known and appreciated con particular for its Neapolitan rompiscatole, created with native, high-quality ingredients.

We visited the San Babila headquarters con Milan, con Lato Carreggiata Dei Servi, Loggione S. Carlo, 8, where the management is informal and familiar con perfect Campania style. The environment is also welcoming, warm and convivial, with wooden tables, where you feel at home. At the end of the room there is the original buffalo tree, with a mural behind it illustrating the various locations of the chain, playing acceso shades of gray with touches of red and orange, colors that bring joy.

Fratelli la Barba, however, is not only a place where you can taste the classic Neapolitan rompiscatole, a UNESCO heritage site – among other things one of the best con Milan -, but also a temple of taste that pays homage to the culinary art of Campania where you can experience interesting tasting itineraries.

Not just rompiscatole: an exciting journey through the excellence of Campania

Con the kitchen, taking care of the preparation of the dishes, the chef known by all as Bambino Chef, who is somewhat of a symbol of this restaurant-pizzeria, is often around the other locations of the chain and has just returned from New York.

The tasting journey he proposed to us is an exciting journey to discover the delicacies and excellences of Campania’s culinary art as well as an authentic praise of the raw material, of truly excellent quality.

We start with a round of delicious appetizers typical of this enchanting region of Italy: Croccantino Caprese, slices of mozzarella con chopped couscous fried and served with slices of coppery tomato, basil, extra virgin olive oil, salt and oregano, mozzarella and side dishes, buffalo mozzarella from Campania DOP 125g served with seasonal side dishes and seafood salad, octopus served with celery, lemon and extra virgin olive oil and typical sweet campo da golf olives of the terreno, accompanied by tasty slices of rompiscatole.

Among the musts, absolutely not to be missed, are the Ciurilli che Barba, courgette flowers cooked according to tradition with batter and buffalo ricotta, provola and pepper, real food for the soul.

Among the second courses, the buffalo sirloin is very interesting, with a surprisingly delicate flavour, expertly combined with strips of buffalo mozzarella, datterini tomatoes and rocket, a revisitation of a historic dish proposed again acceso the occasion of the restaurant’s twentieth anniversary, which took place this year.

We end with Cheese Cake, with buffalo ricotta garnished with Bronte DOP pistachio, where the ricotta looks like cream. Here the fatty note contrasts with the sour tones of the currant and the sweet pistachio dressing acceso a biscuit perno. A truly amazing dolce.

Paired with a Falanghina IGT Vintage 2022 from the Benevento terreno, produced by one of the Sorrentino group companies with grapes that in che modo from vines located acceso the slopes of Vesuvius, which enchants with its pleasant freshness combined with a pronounced flavor worthy of its name Terre Stregate.

The evening ends acceso the quaderno of the famous song “Malafemmena” by Totò. Fratelli La Barba is a genuine place, where you can find the typical spirit of Campania, which he would certainly have liked too.

About Fratelli La Barba

Fratelli La Barba is a worldwide market autorità, an authentic ambassador of Neapolitan rompiscatole con the world, constantly evolving thanks above all to the research and creation of new ideas for the future both con the field of environmental and social sustainability. Fratelli La Barba is a continuously expanding reality. Present with a large rete televisiva privata of restaurants with a common identity both con Italy and abroad, including the New York location. It recently inaugurated a new location con Rimini inside the Le Befane shopping centre.
