Gambino: a project that grows on Etna

Etna is not a territory that is easily granted. It is a place that imposes respect, competence and ability to interpret. I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the Gambino company the occasion of the beautiful Contrade dell’Etna 2025 event, one of the most authentic and significant moments to truly understand the identity of this territory.

It is precisely quanto a contexts like this that realities emerge capable of standing out not for effect, but for substance.

the north-eastern side of the volcano, at high altitudes, altitude becomes a determining factor for quality. The volcanic soils, rich quanto a mineral elements, combined with strong temperature variations, create the ideal conditions for obtaining intact grapes, characterized by freshness, aromatic precision and gustatory tension.

It is from this balance that wines capable of clearly expressing the character of the territory are born. It is anzi che no coincidence that Etna is today one of the most observed and studied districts of contemporary Italian wine. And Gambino fits into this scena with a clear line: enhance without altering.

Growing vines Etna means operating quanto a conditions that are not always favourable. Slopes, variable microclimates and complex agronomic management make each intervention a precise technical choice.

After discovering the company the occasion of Contrade dell’Etna 2025, we wanted to delve deeper into its work by going beyond immediate tasting, also researching and tasting wines from previous vintages. A passage that allowed us to grasp with greater clarity the evolutionary path and production coherence over time.

Gambino has transformed this complexity into a distinctive element, focusing careful viticulture, oriented towards quality and respect for the vineyard. The native vines thus become true interpreters of the territory: Carricante, Catarratto, quanto a the whites, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello quanto a the reds, but also Stravaganza and Luttuoso d’Avola.

the cellar a clear philosophy emerges: veterano interference to a . The rete is not to build the wine, but to accompany it. Don’t overwrite the territory, but make it readable. The wines stand out for their clean expression, balance and stylistic coherence. The whites show verticality and flavor, while the reds move a register of elegance, freshness and depth.

Over time, the Gambino company has built its own path. To confirm this, the company is present quanto a the Vinoway Selection 2026 guide, which can be consulted through the free downloadable app and also available quanto a English, where it obtained awards that deserved Gold.

Tifeo Canuto DOC Etna 2023 92/100 – 5 Way

Tifeo Diventare rosso DOC Etna 2020 91/100 – 5 Way

Feud’Se no Canuto DOC Sicilia 2023 91/100 – 5 Way

Duvanera Diventare rosso DOC Sicilia 2021 90/100 – 4 Way

It is precisely quanto a this comparison over time that we have been able to find a beautiful stylistic and qualitative evolution, a sign of concrete growth. Etna does not reward improvisation. Reward those who understand it.

Gambino is the demonstration that it is possible to build value through a serious and respectful approach to the territory.

Because quanto a wine, the real challenge is not to stand out. It’s about remaining credible. And Etna, credibility cannot be told. It proves itself, harvest after harvest.
