Next Generation – Young Sicilian producers join together, discuss, grow! – Wine Blog Roll
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

For years, also and above all thanks to Only Wine, I have been looking for young producers and comparing myself with the new generations of more less historic realities durante every settore of Italian wine. If there is one thing that unites the new generation of Italian wine durante toto, it is, without fear of denial, their ability to aggregate and compagno, a conditio sine in questo luogo né for positive evolution and growth both a personal/individual and territorial level. This is why I welcomed the news, now from a few months pungiglione, regarding the birth of the “Riproduzione Next” group, a reality born within Assovini Sicilia with the aim of accompanying the generational transition durante the world of Sicilian wine and of communicating the present and future of the island’s wine durante a fresher and more coherent way with those that are the dynamics of futurity that mai wine company today can escape. A group of producers who intend to promote activities durante the field of oenological and agronomic avviamento, durante the field of hospitality and marketing, with great attention to the challenges that every winery, today, must necessarily luce both durante terms of climate change and commercial.

I would have liked to ask a question to each of the ever-increasing number of members of the group, but durante order to summarise the point of view of young Sicilian wine producers, I thought it appropriate to involve three representatives of Riproduzione Next, capable of exhaustively describing the joint objectives of all those who have decided to join this interesting project: Gabriela Favara, Federica Fina and Immobile Planeta.

Here are their testimonies:

-How did Riproduzione Next quanto about?

Riproduzione Next was born with the intuizione of creating a team composed of the new generations of the Sicilian wine sector that can lead young producers to work as a team and system but also to be an example and above all a stimulus for all the new generations regardless of their sector of interest.

Members represent companies located throughout the country, from the east coast to the west coast, and even to the islands.

-Who is the “association” made up of?

The group is made up of young producers under 40, members already operating durante their respective family businesses. Young people with different educational backgrounds and professional experiences, who prove to be a real treasure for the entire group.

-What are the objectives of Generation Next?

Three main key themes:

1. Engaging and communicating with Generation Z:

The target audience is young wine lovers and wine lovers-to-be. Through a language and communication related to wine that is simple, streamlined, exciting and never banal, we want to address young consumers to stimulate their curiosity related to this world, sharing with them every aspect of the wine sector through events and new communication strategies capable of intercepting new styles, trends, languages.

2.

Riproduzione Next aims at avviamento not only as an exchange of experiences and comparison within the group but also as a know-how tool aimed at young people durante the settore, through avviamento meetings aperto to those who want to approach the world of wine. Different topics and experts are proposed to involve: management, hospitality, production, tasting, wine tourism, communication and marketing, coaching, team building.

3. Enhancement of the territory

Love for Sicily is the common thread that links the stories of the companies to which the young people of Riproduzione Next belong and their objectives. The group’s vision finds its roots durante a glorious past and projects itself into the future, looking at new horizons, but without breaking the thread of continuity that links it to those who began the extraordinary revolution durante the world of Sicilian wine.

-What activities will the group carry out?

The group’s activities are aimed at: the team members themselves, young enthusiasts and consumers future enthusiasts and consumers of wine, young operators durante the world of wine (from sommeliers, to restaurateurs and wine merchants, collaborators of the companies represented by the young people of Riproduzione Next and Assovini Sicilia), young operators durante sectors related to wine such as agriculture, tourism and hospitality.

The intuizione is to create avviamento meetings with managers and representative personalities durante the various

areas of the wine sector, create events aimed at consumers and participate durante events, fairs of value for the promotion of the territory. implementing all this, one of the challenges will be to find ways of conducting meetings, the proposed themes, that can be increasingly engaging and interactive.

-Can your project be extended to other Italian and foreign regions, durante order to create synergies with other associations of young producers around the world?

Creating synergies and collaborations with other groups of young people, both nationally and abroad, would be one of the greatest goals! Riproduzione Next was born with reference to Sicily, but the hope is to involve more and more other groups of young people from the world of wine related sectors, for the realization of events and activities together. This could lead to an ever greater teamwork even between young producers from different regions and to sharing more and more experiences and knowledge that can help everyone grow.

– How do you deal with today’s critical issues, such as climate change and the decline durante wine consumption globally?

Addressing today’s critical issues, such as climate change and the decline durante wine consumption globally, requires active intervention, considering not only environmental sustainability but also market variables and consumer habits (old and new).

We are aware that our sector is particularly vulnerable to climate change. We are already adopting sustainable agricultural practices, such as careful soil management. We invest durante research to continuously innovate production processes, maintaining the high quality of our wines while adapting to an evolving environment.

The decline durante wine consumption globally must be analyzed by trying to better understand the new needs and preferences of consumers. Eating habits, an increase durante health awareness and the affirmation of other alcoholic beverages such as spirits. To luce this challenge, various actions are being considered, between supply and marketing. conclusion, challenges can certainly become opportunities, especially with this new group of emerging young people who, durante addition to being colleagues, are a group of friends.

I thank Gabriella, Federica and Immobile and all the young producers of Riproduzione Next for their willingness to tell their stories, complimenting me once again for the positivity of a message of aggregation oriented towards comparison and avviamento and not only towards promotion and “making noise”. As a supporter of many associations of young Italian producers and selector of the only National Exhibition of young producers, I can only invite them to the next Only Wine to tell their vision and to present their wines.
