The 34th edition of the Merano WineFestival was officially presented in Rome – Foodmakers.it

The theme for 2025, “Vision: Wine & Food Creators”, aims to celebrate Italian excellence, which knows how to aspetto to the future between science, local culture and discussion between experts

Presented quanto a Rome, the busy calendar of the next Merano Wine Fest has “revealed the numbers” of an event that is confirmed as an unmissable event for enthusiasts and operators quanto a the sector. 5 days of festa, 1300 companies for over 2000 wines tasting, 250 labels quanto a the WineHunter Superficie, over 4300 WineHunter Awards, 31 masterclasses, 12 cooking shows and 9 talks.

The official presentation day saw the presence of the president of Coldiretti Ettore Prandini, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Luigi D’Eramo, the founder Köcher and Sylwana Altopiedi, Director of the Italian culture and economic development department of the Province of Bolzano. At the Salone delle Statue of the Casa signorile Rospigliosi Congress Center, the simposio was a cause for reflection acceso the future of the wine sector, including declining consumption, new lifestyles, environmental challenges and the need for Italian companies to be competitive acceso global markets.

“My vision, and that of the Merano WineFestival, is to aspetto forward starting from the roots: preserving the quality and typicality of Italian wine quanto a a changing climate, valorising diversity as strength and opportunity. Italian food and wine products, authentic and linked to the territory, become living testimonies of our culture, ambassadors of a tradition that evolves over time.” – explains the founder of the Merano Wine Fest, scheduled from 7 to 11 November next

Finally, the five-day program of the South Tyrolean event has been revealed, which for 34 years has celebrated the excellence of wine, haute cuisine and local culture.

Inauguration set for Friday 7 November, from 10.00 to 16.30, and dedicated to the most innovative and sustainable expressions of the contemporary wine scene, with the TasteTerroir – bio&dynamica format: 200 wines including organic, biodynamic, natural, PIWI, orange, amphora, underwater wines and, new this year, no-low references.

Furthermore, inside the Kurhaus, the Cult Oenologist path celebrates the 10 best Italian winemakers selected by Helmuth Köcher, while the ExtraWine is dedicated to excellent partners and sponsors. The FuoriSalone returns to Cammino Licenza, a widespread stage acceso which territories and consortia talk to the public. From Saturday 8 to Monday 10 November, however, The Manifestazione represents an authentic sensorial itinerary among 300 wine companies quanto a the Wine Italia section, 50 producers from 9 different countries for Wine International, with 40% representation from Georgia, and as many as 250 labels selected quanto a the WineHunter Superficie (curated by FISAR Insigne Adige sommeliers).

Among the events acceso Saturday 8th, at 9.00 am at the Puccini Theatre, the official presentation of the 2026 ViniBuoni d’Italia Guide by the Italian Touring , at 2.00 pm the official opening sabre-rattling of the 34th edition acceso the Lenoir Bridge.

The 31st Godio Award ceremony will be held acceso Monday 10th at 5pm at the Terme Merano, recognition for gastronomic excellence which pays homage to visionary and passionate chefs.

Finally, Tuesday 11 November, closing quanto a the name of style and lightness with Catwalk Champagne&More, the day dedicated to the universe of bubbles, with more than 120 excellences quanto a a refined selection that ranges from Champagne, symbol of elegance and celebration, to the best Italian expressions of the classic method. At 4.30 pm quanto a the Kursaal, the awards ceremony for the Northern Selection of EmergenteSala, the competition organized by Luigi Cremona and Lorenza Vitali which reveals talents quanto a the catering field.

The calendar of awards ceremonies is also busy, scheduled for Friday 7 November at 5.00 pm, quanto a the renovated Puccini Theater quanto a Merano. Among the main ones, the presentation of the WineHunter Award Platinum diplomas to the excellences of the Wine, Food, Spirits and Beer categories of The WineHunter 2025 Guide, the proclamation of the 10 Cult Oenologist and the 6 prestigious Honor Awards for Conquest, Territory, Family, Innovation, Genius and Creativity, presented by the journalist Andrea Radic, which will be respectively assigned to Braida, the Vulture Consortium, the family Ceraudo, Vivai Rauscedo, Hans Terzer and Antichi Poderi Jerzu.

Quanto a parallel, the GourmetArena, the Culinary section which for years has represented the gastronomic soul of the Merano WineFestival. The creativity of 130 artisanal producers, together with the most innovative interpreters of contemporary Italian cuisine, will be showcased quanto a an exhibition itinerary, made up of aromas and knowledge that tell stories of territory, sustainability and passion.

While waiting for the Manifestazione, all that remains is…ricevimento!
