From the Chieti province of San Martino sulla Marrucina, the Masciarelli family settles more and more radically in the Milanese capital and does so with a “domestic” space, a real apartment, in a condominium in Corso Magenta 30, where they can stage that genuine hospitality that has always distinguished the family of winemakers. It will be a space dedicated to welcoming its customers, but above all a “living” environment where it will be possible to organize dinners, masterclasses, private tastings and cooking shows. A multifunctional space, therefore, designed to combine the needs of an operational office and, at the same time, a showroom, designed by the interior architect Alberto Nespoli, co-founder of EligoStudio, a design office that draws its inspiration from timeless techniques of the masters of Made in Italy craftsmanship, to create interior design solutions that combine lifestyle and tradition.
«The mission was to combine the needs of a representative office with those of a real home, which could also be used, if necessary, for residential use – architect Nespoli explained to us -. For this reason we worked on functional and very minimal furnishings, mostly concealed, such as the wall wardrobes in the entrance hall, which become comfortable office workstations, kitchen cabinets “disguised” as bottle displays or the bathroom literally hidden behind a sliding mirror door”. The bathroom itself then reveals, with its walls entirely painted in a warm Montepulciano colour, the symbolic wine of the region and the company (among our 50 Top Cellars 2023), the choice of colors and materials adopted throughout the environment, which evidently recalls the wine theme in the pomace and wood details.
The inauguration was held last Wednesday 25 October, during the traditional time of the Milan to drink, that of the aperitif, and saw the protagonists of the two Masciarelli sisters, Miriam Lee and Chiara Ludovica, who presented together with their collection of wines , also the distribution line of wines from the world, the selection of which began with his father Gianni. To accompany the tastings, a range of small gastronomic products from Abruzzo, including sheep’s cheeses and artisanal salamis, as well as some dishes proposed by chef Mario Di Giovanni, trained at the Niko Romito Academy and current head of the brigade of the Castello di Semivicoli, the wine company-owned resort. A real place with an Abruzzo soul, in short, but in the beating heart of Milan.
