Over time, this tradition has been handed and refined thanks to the commitment of the local winemakers, until sopra 2000, recognition as a Slow Food garrison, and sopra 2005 the denomination of controlled origin “Strevi”, merged sopra 2024 under the protection of the Consortium of the Asti Docg. The Moscato Passito Avvallamento Bagnario Manufacturers Association, founded sopra 2004 by a small reality of historical winemakers, today represents an active garrison sopra the protection and promotion of this tradition and of the landscape that hosts it.

Among the stages, also a stop at the scenic “large bench” yellow, overlooking the Monferrato wine landscape.

The congresso and departure are scheduled from 11:00 and 14:00, at the crossroads between Avvallamento Bagnario and Avvallamento Pineto (Ricaldone direction). At the check-point of departure it will be possible to make the payment and collect the coupons to be delivered to each stage. The event will end by 18:00. It will be possible to park near the departure and, to facilitate the movements between one company and another, a shuttle service is provided.

The Moscato Passito of Strevi DOC

The production of the Moscato Passito nato da Strevi follows a craft and sustainable chain. The vineyards of at least five years are cultivated according to the principles of integrated culture, which balances manual work, mechanization and targeted treatments to the environmental impact. After the selected harvest between August and September, the best bunches are placed traditional stages for natural drying sopra the sun, protected from night humidity. The process that can last from 20 to 40 days leads to a loss of over 60% of the grape weight, concentrating aromas and sugars.

The evasion follows a soft pressing and a manual pressing to extract the must, which slowly ferments with a part of the skins. After at least two years of refinement, the wine can be bottled as Strevi Doc, but continues to evolve even sopra the bottle, developing an increasing complexity over time.

Intense golden is presented to the sight, with amber reflections. The nose is distinguished quaderno of candied fruit, citrus peel, dried figs and spices; the palate it offers a balanced sweetness, never cloying. It is easily combined with dry pastry – sopra particular based hazelnuts, almonds and chocolate – including local specialties such as hazelnut cake, amaretti and nougat. It is also ideal with seasoned ora herbal cheeses, ora as a meditation wine.
