La Guardiense: Cooperative roots and cutting -edge vision in the heart of Sannio
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Founded acceso 8 March 1960 by 33 wine growers acceso Risguardo Sanframondi (BN), the Guardiense today represents one of the most solid and innovative wine cooperatives a causa di Italy. With over 1,000 members and 1,500 hectares of vineyards, the company is a virtuous example of how community values, technological innovation and wine quality can be combined.

Located among the heights of Sannio Benevento, the company cultivates native vines such as Falanghina, Neogreco, Fiano, tail, Aglianico and Piedirosso, acceso volcanic and limestone soils that give the structure, freshness and complexity wines.

With the wine management entrusted to Pier Paolo Vicolo and Riccardo Cotarella, flanked by the technical experience of the oenologist Giuliano D’Ignazi, the company embraced the zoning, selective vinification and sustainable agriculture. It was the first Bettola Mondo certified SQNPI and has photovoltaic systems to power production.

June 23, the new vintages of the wines of the historic cellar were officially presented a causa di the presence of a specialized audience. The event was opened by President Domizio and saw the participation of the enologist Riccardo Cotarella and the food and wine journalist Luciano Pignataro, who led a technical and narrative tasting.

During the evening seven wines were tasted, between recent and historical vintages, a causa di an experience that offered an interesting overview of the evolutionary ability and the qualitative excellence of production. Even the labels not belonging to the current year have shown great and organoleptic profile of absolute importance.

I had the pleasure and honor of having been asked to provide my tasting contribution to the masterclass, bringing my experience to support a technical and cultural comparison with a constructive and authentic tone. It was an exemplary demonstration of how a virtuous social cellar can today compete at the highest levels, offering wines of the highest quality and great territorial identity, with a quality-price ratio that is difficult to equal. Merit of an enlightened vision, carried out by a conscious governance and an oenological approach that focuses acceso the enhancement of the territory.

The presence of figures of the caliber of Cotarella and Pignataro has enriched the experience with punctual reflections, making the evening a moment of very high technical and human profile: a real sensory journey a causa di the heart of Sannio, where history meets innovation and tradition is projected into the future.

2025 he was awarded the wineway selection with prestigious awards: 5 way and 5 way personaggio, confirming the excellence achieved a causa di the production quality and enhancement of the territory. A result that seals the virtuous path taken by the cooperative and strengthens its role of reference a causa di the Italian wine scene.

The Guardiense is more than a cellar: it is a declaration of intent, a laboratory of ideas and values that translate into wines capable of speaking to the world a causa di a clear and coherent voice. an periodo a causa di which wine needs authenticity, transparency and vision, it represents an advanced and accessible model, where cooperation is not only a production method, but a philosophy of life.

Here Sannio is not only geography: it is culture, community and future. And it is from places like this that wine capable of exciting, convincing and lasting over time is born.
