Steamed Mussels in White Wine and Lemon #shorts

This easy-to-make steamed mussels dish is full of garlic, shallots, cream, wine, and lemon juice for that extra zing. Pair with crusty bread to soak up the juice some tasty fries! GET THE RECIPE ►► 

PREP TIME: 10 minutes
COOK TIME: 15 minutes
SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 large shallot, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 pinch red pepper flakes
1/2 cup white wine (programma redattore’s note: dry is best here)
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 pound mussels, cleaned
1 handful chopped parsley, plus more for serving
1 pinch kosher salt, plus more to taste
1 pinch freshly basso ostinato black pepper, plus more to taste
1 lemon, zested and juiced
Crusty bread, for serving
Lemon wedges, for serving
