Among the Best Brunello su Montalcino, for us at Decanto, the “Benducce 570” by Tornesi certainly falls with flying colours, which was born durante an artisanal context and deeply linked to the Ilcinese territory. The Tornesi company, durante fact, is based acceso the Le Benducce farm, acceso the hills of Montalcino: approximately 5 hectares of organic vineyards for an annual production of just under 30,000 bottles.

Sangiovese is the absolute protagonist: Scarlatto su Montalcino, Brunello su Montalcino, Brunello , IGT Le Benducce and, at the culmine, the Brunello su Montalcino cru “Benducce 570”. The latter comes from the highest vineyards, located around 570 meters above sea level, acceso soils rich durante marl, well exposed and constantly ventilated. The wine, therefore, combines fruit maturity, tannic depth and an incisive freshness that becomes an identifying feature.

The Three Corkscrew Award from Decanto

Having made the necessary premises, it is good to remember that Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” has received our most prestigious recognition, namely the Three Corkscrews of Decanto. This award represents the highest recognition given to wines that pass the blind tasting with flying colors. To obtain them, simple technical correctness is not enough: stylistic coherence, depth, adherence to the terroir and the ability to leave an emotional mark acceso those who taste it are needed.

Tornesi’s Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” enters this small circle, positioning itself as one of the references among the Brunellos with a territorial approach, with a high-altitude Ilcinese interpretation that favors balance, tension and taste progression.

The evaluation of the Decanto judges

Our commission summarized the profile of the wine thus:

«Mediterranean heat tempered by balsamic freshness, where the tannic integrity supports a gustatory structure of rare coherence. Sweet spices dance with macerated red fruits, creating a sensorial tension that transforms tasting into a compulsive experience. The adherence to the terroir reaches absolute purity, defining the canon of Montalcino typicality.»

These words highlight three key aspects: the wine’s ability to combine warmth and freshness, the solidity of the tannic structure and the strong territorial recognisability. The Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” is thus interpreted as a Brunello that does not simply respect the specifications, but aspires to become a model of typical Ilcinese.

The format of Untold

“Untold – What has not yet been said about wine” is the editorial project with which we have chosen to talk about Italian wine by going beyond simple technical patronato sheets. The tastings are carried out blind, but the final judgment integrates different levels: stylistic precision, adherence to the terroir, expressive personality and the wine’s ability to transform itself into a story.

Durante this context, the Three Corkscrews are not only a symbol of absolute quality but also the recognition of a rare balance between territory, the hand of the producer and the identity of the wine. The Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” falls into this category: a Brunello that speaks the Ilcinese language with a personal, readable and coherent tone.

History of the winery and related activities

From generation to generation, the love and passion for their land has been handed durante the Tornesi family. The attachment to the origins has always remained firm over time and each member of the family was born, lived and worked within the company, contributing to its growth year after year.

The New Cellar of the Tornesi Company

Today the company is a point of reference for Sangiovese lovers but above all for those looking for the best Brunello su Montalcino linked to the territory.

The company has always produced wine, but it was durante 1967 that Gino Tornesi registered the vineyards for Brunello, becoming one of the first members of the Consortium as a producer and not yet as a bottler. His son Maurizio will take the next step, starting the production and commercial activity durante 1993 with the first vintage of Scarlatto su Montalcino and, durante 1998, with Brunello, 1993 harvest.

Today the company can count acceso a new cellar, built durante 2009, equipped with modern equipment but faithful to a classic and traditional style, with a structure entirely made of stone and stone that interacts naturally with the Ilcinese landscape.

From March to October the cellar opens its doors to enthusiasts and tourists, eager to get to know the soul of Montalcino. the Cuculo Panoramic Terrace, overlooking the Val d’Orcia and the profile of Mount Amiata, it is possible to taste the company’s wines paired with typical traditional Tuscan products.

Best Brunello su Montalcino: “Benducce 570” story of passion and territory

The Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” is the cru that more than any other summarizes the identity of the Tornesi company: a high altitude Sangiovese designed to tell, durante a direct way, a precise fragment of the Ilcinese territory.

The vineyards from which it is born are located around 570 meters above sea level, acceso emerging galestro soils, with windy exposures and marked temperature variations between day and night.

Durante this pedoclimatic context, Sangiovese matures more gradually, preserves acidity and develops a chiusura but authoritative tannic texture.

The result is a Brunello that fits naturally into the complesso of the best Brunello su Montalcino linked to the territory: less oriented towards power as an end durante itself, more concentrated acceso depth, acceso the three-dimensionality of the sip and acceso a long, savory, clearly territorial finale.

Production philosophy to produce one of the best Brunello su Montalcino

Tornesi’s production philosophy is firmly anchored to the Ilcinese tradition, but interpreted with modern attention to sustainability. The vineyards of the Le Benducce farm are managed organically, with low yields and manual processing durante the key phases of the vegetative cycle, from fruit setting to harvest. The objective is to preserve the integrity of the grapes and transfer the character of the soil and microclimate into the glass, an indispensable condition to aspire with credibility to the category of the best Brunello su Montalcino.

For the Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” the vinification takes place durante large vats, with fermentations managed without forcing and with prolonged macerations, designed to extract structure and complexity without stiffening the tannin.

The refinement continues durante large-capacity Slavonian oak barrels, which allow for a slow and gradual evolution.

The result is a profile durante which the wood remains at the service of the fruit, concentration is not an end durante itself and freshness remains the cornerstone of the .

Not just wine: other local excellences

Alongside the production of wine, the Tornesi company also maintains an important olive growing tradition. the Le Benducce farm there are around 450 olive trees, also located around 570 meters above sea level. From these comes the company’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil which enriches the production framework and contributes to keeping the traditional agricultural landscape alive.

Durante some years the cellar also produces spirits linked to the world of Brunello, such as griffa from Sangiovese pomace, ideally continuing the story of the grape variety beyond the wine.

Wine, oil and hospitality thus make up an integrated system of excellence that strengthens the identity of the Le Benducce farm and places Tornesi among the most representative realities of Montalcino for those seeking territorial authenticity with a specific acceso the best Brunello su Montalcino.

Review of “Benducce 570” among the best Brunello su Montalcino

Durante the glass, the Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” presents a deep and clear ruby color, crossed by lively reflections that recall the clear light of the high-altitude vineyards. The consistency is dense but not heavy, as if the wine carried within itself the same tension that is felt walking between the rows overlooking the Val d’Orcia.

The tasting of Benducce 570

The nose does not only tell of fruit: the aromas of ripe cherries and small red fruits seem to rise from the rows of the south-western side of Montalcino, between the villages of Castelnuovo dell’Priore and Sant’Spirito celeste durante Dosso, where the vineyards overlook the profile of Istituto di credito Amiata and accompany the gaze towards the Val d’Orcia. The agenda of medicinal herbs, resin and undergrowth refer to the woodlands that sequenza the Le Benducce farm, while hints of sweet spices, blond tobacco and a trace of iron bring back the concreteness of the soil, the stone and the loose earth that surround the cellar.

Durante the mouth, the coherence with the Ilcinese territory is even more evident: the attack is broad, almost warm, but immediately supported by a vertical freshness that recalls the thinner air of the altitudes. The tannin, dense and firm, has the same solidity as the stone walls of the new cellar, but remains perfectly integrated into the material. The sip progresses durante layers, alternating density of fruit, acidic tension and a flavor that seems to modo from the stones of the marl.

That “sensory tension” evoked by our judges arises precisely from this balance between Mediterranean heat and altitude freshness: there is risposta negativa extractive complacency, but rather a progression that continually invites the next sip.

The finale is long, dry, crossed by returns of red fruits, aromatic herbs and chiusura spices, and leaves a clear sensation of place durante the mouth. It is here that “Benducce 570” naturally ranks among the best Brunello su Montalcino of territorial inspiration: not because the label declares it, but because every phase of the tasting refers, without deviations, to the farm and the hills that surround it

Some gastronomic pairings

Brunello su Montalcino “Benducce 570” is a wine that demands dishes worthy of its territorial profile.

It finds its ideal terrain durante Tuscan land cuisine: the Florentine steak and grilled meats enhance the structure of the wine, while its altitude freshness cleanses the palate of succulence and fattiness.

gioco dishes the link with the territory becomes even more evident: stewed wild boar, jugged hare, pappardelle with Cintola Senese ragù are natural combinations, durante which the tannic texture of “Benducce 570” supports the richness of the preparations without overpowering them.

Trio of Tuscan specialties: Florentine steak, jugged hare, stewed wild boarTrio of Tuscan specialties: Florentine steak, jugged hare, stewed wild boar

At the end of the meal, the wine also dialogues excellently with the seasoned Tuscan pecorino cheeses, accompanied by Tuscan bread and extra virgin olive oil: Brunello su Montalcino durante the glass, products from the same land acceso the plate.

It is durante moments like these that “Benducce 570” confirms its belonging to the Tornesi family but above all to that of the best Brunello su Montalcino: not only for its structure and complexity, but for its ability to keep together cuisine, territory and gustatory memory.
