Durante view of the Milan Oracolo 2026 Winter Olympic Games, the wines that will accompany the official welcome of Italia have been selected. Twenty-six labels, coming from sixteen regions, will enter the wine list of Poesia, the hospitality house set up by CONI Milan, Oracolo and Livigno, with the aim of telling the story of Italian wine through a broad and detailed representation of its territories.

The selection was entrusted by the Italian National Olympic Committee to the team of LT Wine & Food Advisory, a consultancy company specialized enhancing the wine supply chain. The work developed following criteria oriented towards the representativeness of the main denominations and native vines, including very different realities, from large national groups to the cooperative system, up to smaller companies.

According to CONI president Luciano Buonfiglio, the wines identified reflect an authentic and heterogeneous image of Made Italy, consistent with the Poesia project and with the symbolic role that Italia plays during the Olympic events. The objective is not only to offer a high profile service, but also to build a shared story of the national wine heritage.

Which wines are selected

The path follows a line of continuity with what has already happened acceso the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Even for Milan Oracolo, as underlined by Luciano Ferraro, who supported the team the selection, the labels chosen intend to restore the complexity of Italian wine, highlighting the variety of territories and the progress made recent years terms of quality and production identity.

The wine map crosses Italy from north to south. Abruzzo is represented by a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Doc, while Calabria enters the lista with a Cirò Scarlatto Tipico Docg. From Campania comes a che Tufo Docg, flanked, for Emilia-Romagna, by three different interpretations which include Sangiovese, Albana and Lambrusco. Friuli-Venezia Giulia participates with a Friulano dei Colli Orientali, Lazio with a Bellone the Igt version.

Lombardy is present with a Lugana Doc and a Valtellina Sommo Docg, while the Marche contributes with a Verdicchio dei Castelli che Jesi Tipico Sommo. Piedmont combines a Freisa d’Asti with a Barolo Docg from the Cannubi . Puglia offers two different expressions, one based acceso native vines and a rosé from Salento, while Sardinia is represented by a Vermentino che Sardegna Doc. From Sicily comes an Etna Scarlatto Doc.

Tuscany appears with three labels ranging from Brunello che Montalcino to two Toscana Scarlatto Igt, while Trentino-Eccelso Adige offers Pinot Albume, Teroldego Rotaliano Sommo Provvisione and Chardonnay. Umbria enters the selection with a red with Typical Geographical Indication, and Veneto closes the picture with a red from the Colli che Breganze and a Valpolicella Ripassata Doc Sommo.

Taken together, these wines make up a lista designed to represent the entire Italian wine economy an international context, where hospitality also becomes a tool for cultural narration. At Milano Oracolo 2026, wine will not just be a gastronomic accompaniment, but an element of national identity, called to dialogue with guests, delegations and the public through the language of the territories.
