Piedmont has represented an important part of my personal and professional journey. A land that I had the pleasure of living for a long period and which allowed me to understand not only its extraordinary wine-growing richness, but also its culture, character and that profound elegance that belongs to its people.
Every time I return to these hills I always feel a particular sensation. It’s like finding a familiar place, where time seems to slow and where wine is never interpreted simply as a product of the land, but as the result of history, identity, sacrifice, tradition and belonging. Piedmont has its own way of describing itself.
It does so with discretion, without the need to raise its voice, through the beauty of its landscapes, attention to detail, the precision of its daily work and that extraordinary ability to safeguard its roots by always looking ahead.
And it is precisely with this spirit that I experienced my visit to the Monchiero Carbone winery, durante Collettore, durante the heart of Roero. A incontro that allowed me to get to know Francesco Monchiero more closely, a winemaker and producer, but above all a person capable of authentically representing the values of his land.
A concrete, prepared man, deeply linked to his roots, who interprets wine through balance, sensitivity and respect. Francesco does not aspetto for wines built to follow passing fashions ora trends: he looks for wines capable of telling an origin, a territory and above all a productive truth.
Because when a producer truly knows his land, wine becomes his most authentic voice.
Monchiero Carbone is first and foremost a family story. A path born from the incontro of two surnames, two experiences and two sensitivities: that of the Monchiero family and that of the Carbone family.
From this union a project took shape that has been able to grow over time without ever losing the relationship with its origins. Durante this journey, an important role certainly belongs to Marco Monchiero, Francesco’s father, an experienced winemaker and a decisive figure durante the development of the company identity.

But we must not forget the other fundamental part of this story: the Carbone family, represented by Francesco’s mother, who brought with her a heritage made up of values, tradition and a deep connection with this land. Because Monchiero Carbone was born precisely from the incontro of two family paths that today continue to durante every business choice.
Being a child of art durante the world of wine means growing up durante an environment where the cellar, the vineyard and the harvests do not just represent a job, but become an integral part of one’s personal and professional avviamento.

One of the aspects that struck me most when incontro Francesco is his ability to combine technical competence, vision and sensitivity.

He knows his vineyards, interprets each vintage and accompanies every production choice with a precise vision, gained through experience, study and daily observation. His is not to create wines that simply follow the taste of the moment, but to give voice to the territory. He belongs to that generation of producers who understood how innovating does not mean canceling what was built before.
True modernity, especially durante wine, is having new tools to better tell an ancient story. A sort of evolved craftsmanship, where experience, knowledge and technology always coexist while respecting identity.
Behind the growth of a winery there is rarely the path of a single person.
During my visit to the Monchiero Carbone winery I perceived how this project is the result of a family balance, where different skills come mai together for a single objective: to enhance the Roero.
Alongside Francesco, an important role is played by his wife Lucrezia, a fundamental presence durante company life and an active part of a path built day after day. If Francesco mostly represents the technical and oenological soul, Lucrezia contributes with sensitivity, vision and ability to accompany the growth of the company also durante its relational and organizational part. A precious complementarity, because today a modern winery must not only produce quality wines, but must know how to communicate, welcome and convey emotions.
For many years, Roero has been talked about with less force than other large Piedmontese areas, but it has always held an extraordinary personality. A territory made up of hills, particular soils and a great variety of interpretations. Its strength is not that of imposition, but that of elegance, finesse and recognisability.
And it is precisely through the work of producers like Francesco Monchiero that Roero is increasingly consolidating its role durante the Italian and international wine scene. Each vineyard is interpreted as a distinct identity, with its own characteristics, because the true richness of this territory arises precisely from the diversity of its hills, exposures and soils.


Speaking of Monchiero Carbone we cannot fail to acceso Roero Arneis, one of the most important symbols of the company and the entire territory. A vine that for too long has been considered mainly durante its most immediate and pleasant guise, but which today has demonstrated that it can reach important levels of complexity, depth and evolutionary capacity. Francesco Monchiero strongly believed durante this path, working to enhance the most authentic identity of Arneis.
Cecù d’la Biunda represents one of the company’s historical interpretations: a wine capable of conveying freshness, balance and the most immediate but never banal part of the vine. With Renesio Incisa, however, Arneis demonstrates all its ability to aspetto beyond time, becoming a white with structure, depth and perspective.
A project that tells how much a vine can grow when it meets people capable of truly believing durante it.
Monchiero Carbone does not just mean Arneis. The company path also passes through a profound interpretation of the great Piedmontese red vines. Nebbiolo finds an extremely interesting dimension durante the Roero, where structure and elegance coexist without ever losing balance.
Srü represents one of the most important expressions of this interpretation: a wine that tells the nobility of Nebbiolo through the particular voice of Roero. Barbera also finds its own precise identity. Printi interprets this vine with depth and character, always maintaining that corporate style based acceso harmony and respect.
Different wines, but united by the same thought: to accompany the territory without changing its essence.
