SOUTHERN ROOTS: THE SOUTHERN WINES AND OILS SHOW ON 10 JUNE IN BARI – Foodmakers.it

The last day of the yearly occasion which puts the worldwide spotlight on the red wine production of Southern Italy will be open to the general public of operators and lovers. In the Castle of Sannicandro in Bari from 3:00 pm the tasting stands and at 8:00 pm the huge last celebration, with tasting of the winning white wines of the 19th edition of the competitors and the buffet supper in the name of sustainability and healthy consuming.

The yearly consultation with Radici del Sud will be duplicated in June, an occasion that puts the worldwide spotlight on the red wine production of southern Italy, which will end on Monday 10 June in the Castello di Sannicandro di Bari with the XIX edition of the Salone dei vini e oli del Southern Italy and the possibility for sector operators and lovers to access the tasting stands and fulfill the manufacturers present, beginning with 3.00 pm, and take part in the fantastic last celebration from 8.00 pm with tastings of the 90 winning white wines of the 2024 edition of the competitors and the buffet supper on the style “Sustainability on everybody’s lips”.

The lead characters of Radici del Sud will be the white wines from native vines of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily, however likewise the southern oils, and after that once again the day-to-day work of wineries, oil mills, agri-food manufacturers, cheesemakers, pastry chefs and chefs, with an amazing basket of items that represent the richness and originality of Southern Italy. The day of June 10th will open in Sannicandro di Bari beginning with 11:00 am with a minute of thorough analysis in the opening conference on the subjects: “New growing strategies to safeguard the vineyards from weather unpredictability”, “Individualizing the occasions trade fairs to create more benefits and effectiveness for the manufacturer, the area and the production” and “New traveler paths, brand-new markets, brand-new intake: who are the primary customers of Southern red wine?”. This will be followed by the award event of all the winning white wines of the 19th edition of the Radici del Sud competitors.

The extreme last day of Radici del Sud will be preceded by 5 days of efforts devoted to promoting the quality and worth of the red wine production of the southern Italian areas, through red wine trips and tastings devoted to Italian and worldwide visitors from England, Denmark, Norway, Latvia, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A., Vietnam, South Korea, Canada and Brazil, and B2B conferences.

While the 2024 winning white wines will be picked by 4 juries, divided into nationwide and worldwide professionals, who will taste blind: on the one hand the Italian professionals, who are more experienced about the identity elements of the areas of origin of the native Southern vines, and on the other foreign judges who will have the ability to assess the white wines from a more concentrated point of view on the worldwide market.

Radici del Sud is an occasion arranged by Propapilla– tourist red wine & food, arranged this year in partnership with Assoenologi (Nationwide trade company of professionals in the red wine sector), AEPI (Association of Italian Expert Red Wine Shops), Vinarius (Association of Italian Red Wine Shops) and AIS Puglia (Italian Sommelier Association Puglia), with the patronage of the Town of Sannicandro di Bari and the Puglia Area.
