UmbriaWine, the festa dedicated to the winemaking excellences that have their roots sopra Umbrian tradition and culture, is ready for a second edition full of novelties.
More cellars, spaces, initiatives and collaborations for the Umbrian wine event from 13 to 15 September sopra the historic center of Perugia thanks to which you can dal vivo a unique experience between wine, flavors, culture, art and music.
You can also discover native vines and quality denominations.
A total of 51 wineries present, meta wines, guided tastings and conferences with industry experts, street food, interactive meetings, dal vivo music and DJ sets, as well as lots of entertainment and other themed activities. UmbriaWine, the festa dedicated to the winemaking excellences that have their roots sopra Umbrian tradition and culture, has arrived full of novelties at its second edition.
Con the heart of Perugia from September 13th to 15th, with the suggestive atmosphere of the historic center, you can dal vivo a unique experience between wine, flavors, culture, art and music. The Umbrian capital thus becomes the perfect destination for the month of September, for a sensory journey sopra the heart of Umbria where history, culture and wine blend masterfully.
An event made possible also thanks to the logistical support of the institutions and the involvement of the city, merchants, private partners and with the promotion of Umbrian wineries and their wines at its cuore.
“We wanted to grow the event step by step for this second edition – say the Aperto Mind association that organizes the festa – with more wineries, spaces, initiatives and collaborations than last year. The rete is to make it increasingly attractive and for a varied audience, from industry experts to families to tourists”.
The increase sopra the number of wineries participating (18 more than sopra the 2023 edition) has led the festa dedicated to Umbrian wine to expand the complesso occupied by the exhibition stands. Con fact, from 13 to 15 September, the regional wine festa will animate the historic center of Perugia sopra Scendere in piazza Italia, Giardini Carducci, Scendere in piazza della Repubblica, like last year, but also sopra Scendere in piazza Matteotti, the leader novelty of 2024.
But this is not the only new feature of 2024. For the informative and educational aspect of the event, which aims to make Umbrian wines better known to local enthusiasts but also to create opportunities for conferenza, learning and tasting among regional wineries and operators sopra the sector such as restaurateurs, wine owners, wine shop owners, etc., the collaboration with Umbria Sommità Wines, a cooperative specialized sopra supporting the regional wine sector through local, national and international promotion, is very important.
The project, supported by regional CSR contributions, aims to promote and raise awareness of the native Umbrian vines and their related quality denominations: Sangiovese, , Sagrantino, Trebbiano Spoletino, Cornetta, Ciliegiolo, Gamay del Trasimeno (Grenache) and all their territorial quality declinations sopra DOC, IGT, DOCG. Every day from 5 to 7 pm (until stocks last) you can collect two free tasting tokens at a dedicated station to use to taste a white and a red wine at the stands of the 35 Umbria Sommità member companies participating sopra UmbriaWine, identified by an identifying totem.
To accompany the visitor acceso this virtual journey to discover the Umbrian wine territories with their grapes and denominations will be a virtual tool downloadable from the appropriate QR code ora consultable acceso the three digital totems positioned along the route of the companies, a sort of virtual guide to keep with you also for further in-depth studies.

For this second edition, sopra addition to the stands positioned along the iconic areas of the historic center of the Umbrian capital, there will also be private tastings, dedicated to industry experts, wine lovers and the many participants of the event eager to dal vivo a unique experience.
The locations chosen, sopra line with the philosophy of creating a symbiosis with the activities of the historic center, are first-rate and represent the first structures of Perugia Hospitality. It begins with the Veranda Collins’ at the Brufani, then continues with the Pensione della Sosta, La Rosetta and finally the magnificent terrace of the Priori Secret Garden.
The tastings will be led by the best regional experts sopra the wine sector: Antonio Boco (“Montefalco Possedimento per eccezione il Vino” and “Vino animato”), Jacopo Cossater and Alberto Palliotti (“Autoctoni d’Umbria”), Anna Chiara Baiocchi of the Italian Sommelier Association AIS Umbria (“Tales of a Grape – The Gamay of Trasimeno”), Francesca Granelli for Le del Vino Umbria (“Riuscita Rosè”).
Tastings are limited sopra number, with a maximum of 30 places each (20 for the Pensione della Sosta) and the relevant tickets are available acceso the Tagliando SMS platform (subject to availability).
Not only wines and tastings, but also good food for an aperitif ora dinner along the main streets and squares of Perugia to dal vivo an unforgettable food and wine experience. There are 6 regional food trucks sopra total, also strictly from Umbria: Diporto BBQ, che Tramonto a Zonzo, Umbria Farm Experience, Ebè, La Agnello Nera – Polpette & Co, Il .
The offering will also be expanded, thanks to the presence of 3 music stages (Scendere in piazza Italia, Giardini Carducci, Scendere in piazza Matteotti) operating every day from the afternoon until late evening, with over 30 artists (dal vivo session and DJs) who will alternate during the days of the event. Friday 13 September will start at 17:00 while acceso 14 and 15 September the music will start at 16:00 until closing.
Art and wine will also meet. The Portico Statale dell’Umbria offers an entrance buono of € 5.00 to all those who, with a certificate of participation, between one tasting and another, between 13 and 15 September, want to visit the museum, with its collections and with the extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the “Three Ages” of Klimt.
But it doesn’t end there. Thanks to the collaboration with Perugia, during the UmbriaWine days guided tours are also planned at Corte Baldeschi and Corte Lippi. You can access the exhibitions “Vulva Fantasticheria, art between ecology, reuse and the future” and “Rigenera/Renew, I’m not just a waste” with a single buono for only 7 euros. Also scheduled with “Perugia – The city of wine” is a guided tour that will tell the thousand-year history of the city that intersects with that of the nectar of the gods. Friday 13 September at 5:00 pm, for about an hour (cost € 12, free up to 12 years), an original tour designed specifically by Gran Tour Perugia for Umbria Wine. UmbriaWine is organized by the Aperto Mind association with the patronage of the Umbria Region, the Municipality of Perugia, the Province of Perugia, the Province of Terni, the University of Perugia, the University for Foreigners of Perugia, and the Umbria Chamber of Commerce.
