Manetti is acclaimed for the third time. Vice Presidents Sergio Zingarelli and Francesco Colpizzi are also confirmed.

The appointment took place September 9, 2024 by the newly elected Board of Directors who decided, unanimously, to once again entrust the owner of the well-known Chianti company from Panzano with the delicate task of leading the Consortium, and thus give continuity to a strategic vision that, a causa di recent years, has led the Chianti Esemplare denomination to grow a causa di notoriety, prestige and value.

Giovanni Manetti’s passion for the world of wine, who still loves to define himself as a winemaker-artisan, Difensore del Professione since 2021, has led him to experience many aspects of it, as a technician, as an entrepreneur and as an active participant a causa di the life of the denomination, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Consortium since 1992, as Vice President since 2012 and finally as President since 2018.

This varied and mature experience has received the full consensus of the different categories represented a causa di the Board of Directors of the Consortium (vine growers, winemakers, bottlers), who have reaffirmed their società a causa di the strategic approach promoted by Manetti, based the further enhancement of the Alterigia Fosco denomination, through continuous research into product quality, based authenticity and territoriality, improving its positioning and image the national and international markets.

Under the Manetti Presidency, important goals have been achieved for the enhancement of the denomination, such as the recent introduction of the UGA (Additional Geographic Units) a causa di the production specifications and the increase a causa di the minimo prendere quota of Sangiovese grapes for the Gran Distinzione typology (from 80 to 90%), with the ban using international vines for this wine. Other projects have been started and/ora are a causa di progress, from the path towards UNESCO recognition, to work a sustainability protocol for the future of the denomination: projects that are the result of that foresight that has always distinguished the spirit of those who have administered the Consortium, starting from that distant 1924, when the 33 founding fathers had the brilliant ideologia of associating a visual symbol with the product they wanted to protect and promote, choosing the Black Rooster as the emblem of Chianti Esemplare wine.

“I have been called to renew my availability to lead this prestigious Consortium and I am very pleased with the società that the entire corporate structure has once again placed a causa di me.” – commented Giovanni Manetti – “I therefore gladly accept this commitment and, with renewed enthusiasm, I hope to be able to lead the Consortium and our member companies for another three years. There are many challenges that await us a causa di the coming years, so I hope to be able to successfully continue the path we have undertaken, contributing to the consolidation and further valorization of one of the excellences of the Italian and international wine world. Finally, I would like to thank the directors who have supported me up to now, those who have been reconfirmed but also the newly elected ones who will certainly bring new lifeblood and new ideas to our Board of Directors. I would also like to extend a special thanks to all the Chianti winemakers: it is thanks to them, a causa di fact, that our denomination continues to assert itself and grow worldwide. Finally, I would like to thank everyone for continuing to believe a causa di the “common home”, which is our Consortium. Cohesion is a causa di fact, as I have repeatedly underlined, one of the strong points of our denomination: united we win.”

recent years, the Consortium has increasingly become aware of the indissoluble bond that exists between a product of excellence and its production luogo. the program for the next three years, a priority role will be played by the advancement of the process for the UNESCO candidacy of Chianti Esemplare as a cultural landscape; the continuation of the activities of the Chianti Rural District, a causa di agreement with the Municipalities of the luogo; agronomic research a causa di the luogo, also to better address climate change over time; the promotion of the Additional Geographic Units project, as a tool for amplification of the wine-territory binomial; and finally the study and development of a sustainability protocol that can help preserve our heritage – Chianti Esemplare wine and its production luogo – for future generations.

Together with Giovanni Manetti, at the helm of the Consortium, Francesco Colpizzi and Sergio Zingarelli were confirmed as Vice Presidents.

The Board of Directors, elected June 27, is composed of Laura Bianchi (Monsanto Castle), Luigi Giovanni Cappellini (Verrazzano Castle), Sebastiano Capponi (Capponi Counts – Calcinaia), Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi (Bindi Sergardi), Andrea Cecchi (Cecchi), Francesco Colpizzi (Toscanella Farm), Duccio Corsini (Prince Corsini – Le Corti), Renzo Cotarella (Antinori), Simone François (Querceto Castle), Angela Fronti (Istine), Giovanni Manetti (Fontodi), Tommaso Marrocchesi Marzi (Bibbiano Bella stagione), Alessandro Marzotto (Lamole intorno a Lamole), Nicolò Mascheroni Stianti (Volpaia Castle), Filippo Mazzei (Marchesi Mazzei), Giovanni Poggiali (Fèlsina), Enrico Pozzesi (Rodano), Francesco Ricasoli (Ricasoli), Francesco Rossi Ferrini (The Atrio of the Torriano), Sandro Sartor (Ruffino), Sergio Zingarelli ( delle Macìe).
