A surprising Cabernet Franc is born in Alta Maremma: Ampeleia
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Cabernet Franc Ampeleia, which bears the name of the company, is a anche se wine that represents a winning intuition. This vine embodies the essence of the well-known Tuscan winery and is a faithful interpreter of the soil and territory reality, without ever losing its identity. With the 2021 vintage Ampeleia expresses its minerality, intertwining with small berries, balsamic and spicy quaderno. A deep wine, with silky tannins and an intense color.

A TERROIR OF ANCIENT MINERS AND HIGH FOREST

Ampeleia comes from selected vineyards, grown sopra a natural amphitheater surrounded by forests of holm oaks, oaks and chestnut trees, and facing the sea. The plants grow at 500 meters above sea level sopra a microclimate that stands out for its more continental nature: here the temperature range and the winds give extraordinary freshness and minerality. The result? A noble wine, the result of a profound knowledge of the vineyards, obtained with 10% whole bunches and 18 months of aging sopra cement, followed by a year sopra the bottle. A work that is reflected sopra the recognition from national and international critics, including the score of 95 assigned by James Suckling for the 2021 vintage, of which only 10,000 bottles were produced.

INTUITION, OBSERVATION AND SELECTION

Ampeleia wine is the result of careful and careful work sopra the vineyard and cellar. And the experimentation continues: the company, sopra fact, is preparing to launch two further labels dedicated to Cabernet Franc, thus expanding the story of a territory that never ceases to surprise. An ambitious choice that promises to reveal previously unseen nuances of a vine that has found its ideal home here, sopra Roccatederighi.

A COMMITMENT THAT GOES BEYOND WINE

Today the company has 120 hectares of land between 200 and 600 meters above sea level, divided between woods, fields, olive groves and 35 hectares of vineyards. The strong bond with the territory and with the local community is continuously strengthened through initiatives dedicated to tourism: sopra Ampeleia it is possible to sit at the table and discover a genuine and creative interpretation of the Maremma gastronomic tradition accompanied by their wines, experience immersive experiences sopra the vineyard and sopra winery, visit their wine shop.
