The winner of the 2023 edition of the award committed to Michele D’Innella, the late editorial director of the Italian Touring Club, is Angelo Peretti, a reporter initially from Verona. He is the author of the book entitled “Spiritual workouts for white wine drinkers”, released by the Apulian publishing home Edizioni Ampelos on July 1st and is now about to be reprinted for the 2nd time.
This prominent award, now in its twelfth edition, was developed by the Vinibuoni d’Italia guide, directed by Mario Busso and Alessandro Scorsone. The awards event was hung on Sunday 5 November at the Puccini Theater in Merano, in combination with the Merano WineFestival. In previous editions, the award was granted to characters such as the author Laura Donadoni, the white wine critic Monica Larner, understood for her partnership with Robert Parker’s White wine Supporter guide, and the Rai Radio 2 radio program Decanter.
The inspiration for the award highlights the contribution of Angelo Peretti with his book “Spiritual workouts for white wine drinkers”.
The author welcomes us to find the psychological, nostalgic and intellectual, i.e. “spiritual” element of drinking and living, assisting to eliminate the deep-rooted bias that frequently restrict the real pleasure of sharing a glass of white wine with liked ones. In specific, Peretti takes apart the guidelines and over the top presents of those who consider themselves white wine specialists, providing lovers back the flexibility to value white wine spontaneously and without artifice.
