Summer Season in Italy is a time of warm (understatement) weather condition, long days, and scrumptious food. As we understand and value, Italians consume seasonally. Summertime meals are generally light, revitalizing, and best for delighting in al fresco. One fruit in specific appears regularly throughout the heat of the Italian summertime. Yes we discussed this last summertime, however it deserves another plug: Anguria– a present in the middle of summertime’s ruthless heats.

Anguria, or watermelon for those people who do not speak the Italian language, is a dynamic and attractive fruit with its red flesh and sweet, juicy taste, and is a cherished fruit in Italy. Throughout the hot summertime, Italians turn to this revitalizing fruit to produce a range of scrumptious and thirst-quenching meals. Here are some popular watermelon meals delighted in throughout the nation:

Watermelon Water:

This easy yet wonderful beverage is made by mixing ripe watermelon with fresh water and a touch of sugar. The resulting liquid is a dynamic pink elixir that embodies the essence of summertime. Italians typically delight in acqua di anguria as a rejuvenating option to standard water, especially throughout outside events and beachside picnics. For included beverage, include fresh mint leaves! Feeling frisky, include vodka or tequila!

Watermelon Granita:

Granita di anguria is a frozen pleasure that integrates the tastes of watermelon, sugar, and lemon juice. The mix is churned till it reaches a semi-frozen state, leading to a light and fluffy texture. This icy reward is typically worked as a taste buds cleanser or as a dessert course on hot summertime nights. Why not consume it for breakfast? What a terrific method to begin the day.

Watermelon and Feta Salad:

This stunning salad showcases the wonderful relationship in between sweet watermelon and briny feta cheese. Pieces of watermelon are tossed with fallen apart feta, fresh mint leaves, and a drizzle of olive oil. The mix of tastes is both revitalizing and gratifying, making this salad a popular option for light summertime lunches or as a side meal at barbecues. Include a couple of pinches of cayenne pepper to raise this meal to the next level.

Watermelon Sorbet:

Sorbetto di anguria is a light and revitalizing sorbet made with watermelon puree, sugar, and lemon juice. Unlike gelato, sorbetto does not consist of any dairy, making it a vegan-friendly alternative. The fragile balance of sweet and appetizing tastes makes this sorbet a perfect dessert for those looking for a lighter option to standard ice cream.

These watermelon meals are a testimony to the Italians’ love for fresh, seasonal active ingredients and their capability to change easy tastes into cooking thrills. Whether delighted in as a thirst-quenching beverage, a frozen reward, a tasty salad, or a velvety dessert, watermelon meals in Italy provide a wonderful method to commemorate the dynamic tastes of summertime. Provide yourself the present of Anguria!
