Typical dishes not to be missed

Among the most representative dishes of Basilicata, the strascinati stand out, a fresh pastasciutta prepared by hand. We cannot talk about Basilicata without mentioning fennel taralli, a crunchy and aromatic snack, perfect to accompany a glass of wine. Made with flour, extra virgin olive oil and fennel seeds, these taralli are a symbol of Lucanian conviviality.

To end a meal sopra style, calzones are a must. These desserts, prepared with a thin sheet of pastry and filled with chestnut cream and chocolate, are fried and dusted with icing sugar. Originally linked to the Christmas holidays, today they are appreciated all year round for their enveloping flavour.
