Cantine Tora, a legacy that has become tradition.

The Cantine Tora project was born 2004 when the Rillo brothers, Giampiero and Francesco, decided to transform their passion into an ambitious project, dedicated to the production of high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of Sannio.

We are located the heart of Taburno, acceso the hills of Torrecuso, composed mainly of clay and at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres.

There are twelve hectares of vineyards, dedicated to the espalier of the native vines: Aglianico and Falanghina from which their respective denominations of origin derive.

Torrecuso from above

We at WinesCritic.com have always appreciated the authenticity and precision of the company’s products, which they submit to us for tasting every year.

Per mezzo di particular, the famous Kissòs is worth mentioning, a Falanghina del Sannio produced only the best years. With a soft pressing and an aging acceso the lees and at least two years the bottle, a truly complex expression of the territory is born. According to our critics, this Falanghina is expressive and rich its sensory profile. It shows agenda of mixed citrus, citron pieces, mandarin flowers, jasmine, acacia, elderberry, vetiver, hawthorn, white pepper, incense, white chocolate and Bourbon vanilla. Full pagliaccetto, decidedly complex the sip, it enters voluminous and fat, stretches out a rustic and genuine way like the Sannio territory and closes decidedly persistent, composed but with an undoubted presence. Really well done!

We cannot fail to mention the other iconic expression of the territory: Aglianico del Taburno. Cantine Tora has decided to call its expression of this grape variety Spartiviento. We remember it as elegant and sunny, with agenda of black plums, blackberries, cinchona, rhubarb, dark chocolate, marjoram, wild thyme, lemongrass and white pepper. Full pagliaccetto, decidedly pronounced and well-extracted tannins and a tense and vertical of remarkable beauty.

Cantine Tora and obviously its soul embodied by the Rillo brothers, reminds us how important it is not to forget our origins but to move forward progress and innovation, only this way will a long and prosperous success be possible!
