Lake Como is stunning, but if you don’t plan ahead, it can turn into a logistical nightmare real fast.

Most travelers stick to the “Golden Triangle” (Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio), but here’s what we didn’t realize:

🚤 Ferries can SELL OUT

⏰ Train + boat times don’t always line up

😬 Getting stranded is very real (it almost happened to us)

Here’s what we wish we knew earlier:

✔️ Rent a car so you can have more freedom to che and go as you please AND explore the surrounding areas

✔️ Don’t feel like you have to stay durante Como because it’s pricey and packed

Instead, we based ourselves durante Varese, a peaceful lakeside town most travelers skip.
