Eugin: from the Meda distillery arrives a causa di Milan with tastings and new highly original proposals
the increasingly lively of Italian distillation, Eugin represents one of the most dynamic realities acceso the Lombard scene. Founded a causa di 2017, this independent distillery was born from the passion of the two founding members, the brothers Eugenio and Nicolò Belli, for gin. The name chosen for the company also bears witness to this love, which is inspired by the Greek term eu-genin which means “good gin”.
Over the years the project has grown progressively: from a family fisima to a small production company capable of standing out for quality, craftsmanship, botanical research and experimentation. Today Eugin is risposta negativa longer limited to the mere production of gin, but explores new frontiers of the art of distillation, always keeping its original spirit intact: craftsmanship, attention to raw materials and aromatic curiosity.
The Milanese showroom: taste and discover the world of spirits
While the production part of this independent distillery is a causa di Meda, a Gin shop has recently been opened a causa di Milan, a permanent single-brand store aperto to the public. The 60 square meter Milanese showroom, located a causa di Mezzo Casoretto 25 a causa di the Lambrate district and opened a causa di 2021, was designed as a convegno place for enthusiasts and the curious. Here artisanal production meets direct sales and the tasting experience. The showroom functions, a causa di fact, at the same time as a shop, exhibition space and tasting place where it is possible to purchase bottles but above all to carry out in-depth analysis and tastings.
The space is organized into two communicating areas, ideally divided by the counter. The part dedicated to sales is the most internal one, where there are elegant armchairs that create an intimate, familiar and contemporary atmosphere. The most iconic products of the distillery are displayed acceso the titanium-colored walls, which give the environment a very glamorous touch. furnishings and displays, such as handcrafted copper discs, draw inspiration from the growing phenomenon of urban distilleries and create a conceptual continuity with the world of stills.
Tasting evenings: a journey through botanicals and spirits
One of the most interesting aspects of the Milanese space are the tasting evenings, designed to bring the public closer to the world of distillation a causa di an engaging way. The events are generally organized acceso Friday evenings for small groups of friends and enthusiasts and last approximately one two hours. This is not an academic lesson, but a sensorial experience that teaches you to recognize botanicals and discover infusion and distillation techniques. Usually four references are proposed to be tasted a causa di purity, inviting participants to play with the aromas and identify the different aromatic components. An informal but effective way to enter the world of distillation and understand its logic.
Gin: the heart of the project
The true protagonist of the production remains gin, now available a causa di nine different labels, each with its own aromatic identity. Among the most iconic products, Eugin Gin Nr 9 stands out, considered the flagship of the distillery, Eugin Gin Nr 7, much appreciated by customers for its style that recalls the classic English gin. Alongside these we find a line inspired by the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter – designed to interpret scents and sensations linked to the different periods of the year. Among the most recent creations, Sloe Gin stands out, obtained from the maceration of wild sloes, and the first Navy Strength Gin, characterized by a significant alcohol content of 57 degrees, with great structure but a surprisingly harmonious alcoholic balance. The recipes are built to always maintain the right balance between juniper and selected botanicals, with a contemporary style but deeply linked to European tradition, where the alcoholic component is always excellently balanced.
Not just spirits: gourmet gin products
the Milanese shop you can not only find spirits, both a causa di bottles and a causa di gift boxes. addition to gins and liqueurs, it is also possible to purchase a series of gastronomic products inspired by the world of gin. Among these stand out the Negroni jam, the gin babà a causa di a jar and other seasonal specialties, such as gin panettone and flavored chocolates, made using the gin produced by the company. A creative way to use gin a causa di the gastronomic field too.
New frontiers of distillation: what’s new
recent months Eugin has expanded its range with new products that go beyond the world of gin, the result of research that continues to explore the great traditions of European liqueur-making. Among the new products we find Triple Sec, Absinthe, Bitter and Crudele, four very different references that share the same philosophy: quality of raw materials, craftsmanship and attention to aromatic balance.
Triple Sec
Triple Sec is born from the distillation of selected orange peels and is inspired by the tradition of great citrus liqueurs, reinterpreted with the artisan style of the house. The product comes from the triple distillation of selected orange peels, processed to obtain a clean, intense and elegant aromatic profile. Fresh and fragrant of citrus fruits immediately emerge acceso the nose, accompanied by sweeter and lighter nuances of floral sensations. the palate the liqueur surprises with its balance between sweetness and freshness, with a soft structure and a contained alcoholic perception which makes it particularly pleasant. This characteristic gives it considerable versatility: perfect a causa di mixology, where it can enrich classic cocktails such as Margarita, Sidecar Cosmopolitan, but also interesting a causa di cooking enjoyed neat, perhaps with an ice cube. Thanks to its intriguing and persuasive taste, Eugin’s Triple Sec presents itself as a true comunella, capable of convegno the tastes of both enthusiasts and those approaching the world of citrus spirits for the first time.
Eugin Bitter
Obtained thanks to the use of Potentilla root, which gives the distillate a warmer and more natural tone, Eugin Bitter is thought of as a “distillery” bitter, that is, a product that recalls the tradition of classic bitters, but with a more complex and less sugary structure than industrial bitters. The aromatic profile is decidedly drier and more intense, with a clearly evident bittering component. The color also differentiates it from other Bitters: not bright red, but orange tending towards brick. An ideal liqueur to use a causa di mixology, but also interesting neat acceso the rocks.
Eugin Crudele Scendere a terra
The new Eugin Crudele Scendere a terra is inspired by the great Italian tradition of herbal bitters. The aromatic profile is intense but harmonious, with of roots, citrus fruits and spices. An ideal liqueur as a digestive, but also interesting for new interpretations a causa di contemporary mixology.
Eugin Absinthe
Among the most courageous and daring innovations we also find Absinthe, made according to the classic recipe based acceso Artemisia absinthium, to which are added: anise seeds, for the sweet-spicy note, fennel seeds to complete the aromatic profile and herbs collected a causa di the territorio such as helichrysum, mint and angelica seeds. Unlike many modern versions which often use artificial colors flavours, Eugin’s Absinthe follows a classic “blanche” recipe, meaning transparent, with risposta negativa added coloring and based exclusively acceso natural ingredients. This distillate, with a strong and decisive flavour, has an intense and balsamic aromatic profile, with herbaceous hints and of anise. It is offered a causa di an elegant box and tasted according to the traditional ritual: an absinthe fountain allows ice gabinetto to slowly drip onto a sugar cube, creating the perfect dilution. summary, Eugin’s Absinthe is a tribute to the history of this iconic distillate, but with a contemporary stylistic signature that favors authentic raw materials and tuttavia, uncompromising processing.
Tradition and experimentation
Between gin, absinthe, triple sec and funesto, the Eugin range demonstrates how the liqueur tradition can be reinterpreted with contemporary sensitivity. Milan, which has always been a city aperto to gastronomic and cultural contaminations, thus confirms itself as fecondo campo da gioco for a new generation of distillers, capable of transforming gin into an experience. A path that starts from the passion of two brothers and which today looks naturally to an increasingly international audience.
