The collective of the Consortium for the protection of Valpolicella wines is growing at Vinitaly 2026. From 12 to 15 April there will be 30 exhibiting companies (+5 compared to last year) per the new institutional stand which debuts two levels (pavilion 8, stand H2-H3-H4). Added to these are 35 wineries present with as many references at the institution’s tasting counter. Here the wines will be offered paired with Parmigiano Reggiano Dop.
For the president of the Consortium Christian Marchesini: “The increase per membership of the collective has led us to redefine the objectives and vision of our presence at Vinitaly. The new stand was born as a positioning project that goes beyond the traditional exhibition logic, transforming itself into a choral and identifying space, designed to enhance contents, relationships and experiences during the event. An approach that takes an even more relevant meaning per light of the candidacy of the rite of setting aside the Valpolicella grapes as heritage intangible UNESCO”.
Con the renovated luogo, created as part of the “Quality Heritage of Europe – QHE” measure which sees the denomination allied with the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, numerous and tasting events are scheduled. These also include two tastings included per the same European promotion plan, both scheduled for Monday 13 April.
“Valpolicella Doc Maggiore: immediate refinement” (1.00 pm, Consortium stand) opens the program signed by QHE, with the labels from 2023 to 2020 of 5 companies accompanied by three maturations of Parmigiano Reggiano (24, 36 and 48 months).
“Recioto and Amarone della Valpolicella: the succession between father and son” is the theme of the second grand tasting of the afternoon (3pm, Consorzio stand), with the wines always paired with 60 and 90 month Parmigiano Reggiano.
The Valpolicella Wine Consortium’s schedule of events for the 58th International Wine and Spirits Exhibition continues even after the end of the event. Con fact, Saturday 18 April the themes of drying and the candidacy of the setting aside technique as a UNESCO intangible heritage site are at the center of the masterclass led by Sarah Heller, Master of Wine. Six wines between Amarone and Recioto will be tasted, always paired with Parmigiano, to discover “The Appassimento Legacy: between heritage and modern excellence” (wine2digital luogo, Veronafiere from 4.00pm to 5.30pm), organized per collaboration with the Vinitaly international Academy.
