Milano Sake Experience, an unmissable event unprecedented per Italy, with over 1000 sakes for tasting

Sunday 28 September 2025, Milan is preparing to welcome the largest Sake Experience ever, a unique and free event that promises to transform the city into the European capital of sake. From 12pm to 8pm (with last entry at 7pm), the Nhow Albergo per Passaggio Tortona 35, located within the stile district, will become the stage for an extraordinary sensorial journey, dedicated to all enthusiasts and curious people eager to discover the age-old culture of the symbolic of Japan.

Over 1000 labels for tasting

The highlight of the event will be an impressive tasting featuring over 1000 sake and shōchū, coming from almost all Japanese regions and representing more than 200 sakagura. An unprecedented selection per Europe, which will allow visitors to explore the extraordinary variety, complexity and depth of a product that is increasingly appreciated internationally. Guiding the public there will be dozens of sake sommeliers, ready to share knowledge, curiosities and tasting suggestions.

An interactive experience

Thanks to Compify, the application also used by the judges of the Milano Sake Challenge, each participant will be able to evaluate the sakes tasted and padrino their scores with those of the experts. An innovative way to experience tasting not only as a moment of pleasure, but also as an educational and interactive experience.

Italian sake and pairings

Milano Sake Experience does not limit itself to celebrating sake itself, but also enhances its extraordinary capacity for gastronomic pairing. This will be demonstrated by the presence of Italian excellences such as the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, the San Daniele Ham Consortium and, a great novelty of this edition, the Piedmont Truffle Miners’ Association (Derthona Truffle).

A convegno between cultures and flavors that has already been successfully tested per the Food Pairing session of the Milan Sake Challenge per June, confirming the versatility of sake as an ideal companion also for Italian cuisine.

A vision that unites Italy and Japan

The event was born from the commitment of Lorenzo Ferraboschi and Maiko Takashima, true ambassadors of Japanese culture per Italy and founders of companies such as Sake Company, Wagyu Company and Sake Sommelier Association Italiana. Their commitment has contributed to making Italy, since 2018, the leading European importer of sake, consolidating an increasingly close bond between the two cultures.

Practical info

Participation is free but subject to registration (link available acceso the official website). The event is reserved exclusively for adults, to guarantee an aware and respectful environment.

The Milano Sake Experience 2025 is an opportunity to learn about, explore and be surprised by a world of tradition, culture and innovation. An event that redefines the way of experiencing sake per Italy, opening the doors to an unforgettable experience.
