Poderi Aldo Conterno: from a long wine tradition, a timeless success.

We are the municipality of Monforte d’ the busia superficie, where, with the purchase of the “Favot” mesi estivi, the Poderi Alderi Consorno company originates.

The favot of the conterment family

The story, however, brings us back to us the nineteenth century, when the conterment family emigrated to Argentina, and then returned to Italy and thus begin the long wine tradition of the family.

Already 1920 the property marketed Barolo Provvisione thanks to John’s foresight, the 1930s the latter sold the company to his son Giacomo who, thanks to the direct arguzia of the product, began to make people understand the power and elegance of Barolo .

The sons, Aldo and Giovanni, then began to support him later, until Aldo founded the current company 1969.

Today the children Diretto, Stefano and Giacomo follow the footsteps of his father to honor the great work of their ancestors.

The company that exclusively vinifies its grapes, consists of 25 hectares of vineyards. Much of the basso ostinato, which is located at an altitude of about 350-400 m asl, has a southern / south-west exhibition and is composed of clay and limestone marls with layers of sand.

The yields a hectare are very low and the total production is about 90,000 bottles a year.

Fascinated by all this, we at Winescritic.com Also this year (school) we had the pleasure of tasting the new vintages the company with one of the direct descendants, the fifth generation, Mr. Diretto Conterno.

According to our criticism, a great applause goes to the three cornerstone Cru: the Bussia Colonel 2020; and direct the sensory profile shows taccuino of red plums, strawberries, mature dates and juniper berries. Sweet caramel, elderberry flowers, sandal, patchouli and nutmeg describes the secondary scene. Medium-piene , silky tannins of very finalità grain and an engaging ending, juicy and pleasant the dynamic and relaxed sip. Better since 2027.

The Busia Cicala 2020: deep and stratified shows intriguing taccuino of mixed profile that recall the raspberries, the currants, the chopped almonds, the Gardenie, the sweet bitterness, the elderberry flowers and the coriander. Many shades of iodine, chamomile, ginestra and bergamot animate the secondary scene of great stylistic figure. Medium-piene , velvety tannins of commendable beauty, extracts, tamed and large to perfection and an ending of tuttavia hedonistic beauty. Performant and rare will enhance itself the next 5-10 years. Better from 2028.

Busia Romirasco: mature and alive the sensory profile shows taccuino of black plums, more, cinnamon powder, bitterness, sandal, patchouli, wild myrtle, bergamot, wild thyme and coriander. An explosion of sensations and nuances merge together to give rise to a solid, unique and decidedly rare sensory framework. The presence of tomato leaf certifies the well-mature and sunny character of the vintage and the corporate interpretation of Romarasco 2020. Medium-pingy , silky tannins and a ending of great harmony and quality of sip. Better from 2028.

These and many other references tasted our complete report acceso the new releases of Barolo: https://www.winescritic.com/barolo-2021-Potent-vibrante-motionant/
