The Grande Cuvée “Kermesse” MMXX by Elena Walch: a genuine symphony of fragrances and feelings for all white wine enthusiasts

On long winter season nights, when the frost covers the earth in a cold welcome and your houses are filled with the heat of the fireplace, white wine ends up being the conductor of a symphony of feelings. And in this winter season choreography, Elena Walch’s Grande Cuvée “Kermesse” 2020 sticks out for its high level of quality.

A remarkable mix of Red wine, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah contributes, in practically equivalent parts (roughly 20% each), to develop a cuvée that embodies the engaging intricacy of a rewarding tasting experience. It resembles taking part in a celebration filled with environment where every sip is an invite to find brand-new subtleties of enjoyment.

The 2020 harvest

The spring of 2020 in South Tyrol appeared like a big outdoor painting: the snow sparkled on the mountain tops, while the flowers flowered in the gardens. This season set off early advancement of the vines, followed by a hectic summer season. The harvest, which started in early September, took advantage of warm days and cool nights throughout a fall defined by unsteady weather condition. This circumstance made the 2020 harvest a distinct experience, culminating in dynamic and fragrant whites and structured reds: a homage to the common South Tyrolean custom.

The fermentation of the various grapes was followed by aging in French oak barriques for 18 months. The ultra-modern, advanced fermentation cellar in Termeno, South Tyrol, permits mild processing of the grapes, maintaining their greatest quality and stability.

The Grande Cuvée “Kermesse” owes its name to the German word “Kirmes”, which stimulates popular celebrations and joyful festivity. The glass ends up being the essential to access an experience of happiness and sharing, in which every sip ends up being a factor to commemorate.

Elena Walch is the white wine artist of this work, popular for her Grande Cuvée “Beyond The Clouds” and the Gewürztraminer Vigna “Kastelaz”. In her vineyards, primarily on the slopes of Termeno and Caldaro, in the heart of the South Tyrolean White Wine Path, her children Julia and Karoline continue this household custom, including a note of heat and devotion to every bottle produced.

Taste-olfactory evaluation: in the mouth it is full-bodied and energetic, with outstanding tannins and a comfy mouthwatering path that causes a consistent surface.

Pairing: outstanding with red meat, video game, fully grown cheeses.
