From 1 to 3 March 2026, within the Paestum Wine Fest, Vinoway will inaugurate a new format destined to become a point of reference quanto a the national wine scene: “The New Talents of Italian Enology”.
A structured project that puts the figure of the oenologist back at the center as the technical, cultural and strategic pivot of contemporary Italian wine.
The choice to inaugurate this format at the Paestum Wine Fest is not accidental. Paestum represents a symbolic and operational crossroads: a territory of history and culture, but also a dynamic platform for the Italian wine business, with over 24,000 attendees quanto a the latest editions and a strong concentration of qualified operators, buyers, distributors, importers and specialized press.
Launching “The New Talents of Italian Oenology” here means placing it quanto a a business-oriented context, aperto to technical comparison and capable of amplifying the value of the project.
The oenologists awarded over the years at the Vinoway Selection will participate quanto a the first edition:
2019 – Marco Mascellani
An established oenologist and consultant, he stands out for his technical rigor and valorisation of native vines. A professional with structured experience between central and southern Italy, he represents a solid figure of the new winemaking generation.
2020 – Nicola Biasi
National reference oenologist consultant, promoter of projects related to sustainability and resistant vines. It combines technical vision, research and innovation, with a modern approach to viticulture.
2021 – Andrea Vanga
Sardinian winemaker with a strong territorial identity. He has contributed to the qualitative growth of various wine-growing realities, standing out for his technical competence and commitment to the valorisation of denominations.
2023 – Jacopo Vagaggini
Member of a historic family linked to the world of Italian oenology. High profile professional, with international experience and a technical vision oriented towards precision and stylistic clarity.
2024 – Alessandro Leoni
Emerging winemaker who has distinguished himself for quality, method and ability to interpret the territory. A growing figure quanto a the Italian wine scene.
Antonio Scatigna – Vinoway Collaborator
Oenologist, consultant and wine communicator. He holds the role of Deputy Curator of the Vinoway Selection Guide. He is also the winemaking technical dirigente of the Vite Agrivoltaica nato da Setta, an innovative project quanto a Puglia that integrates viticulture and renewable energy. Guide the experimentation by evaluating the impact of agrivoltaics the maturation and quality of wines.
During the Paestum Wine Fest, a masterclass dedicated to the New Talents of Italian Oenology will be organized, aimed at operators, buyers and specialized press. Wines representative of the technical management of the winemakers involved will be presented, with insights into the stylistic approach, agronomic approach, technical management of the cellar and territorial identity.
Inside the Vinoway stand there will be an schieramento entirely dedicated to the format. Each winemaker will have a personalized station, where they can present wines of their own production, communicate directly with operators and the press and explain their working method.
Next to the technical stations, a lounge space dedicated to interviews and discussion will be set up, where individual interviews and moments of dialogue will be held with journalists and influencers of Italian wine, creating qualified and constructive lounge moments. There will also be an schieramento dedicated to the tasting of some wines that have obtained the at the Vinoway Selection 2026, the highest recognition awarded by the guide.
The winemakers involved were rewarded through the Vinoway Selection, a guide that operates with tastings carried out quanto a conditions designed to eliminate any possible external influence, according to a transparent and meritocratic evaluation system.

“The New Talents of Italian Enology” was not born as an isolated event, but as a project destined to expand over time.
Over the years, the path will be enriched with the inclusion of young winemakers who will be identified during our travels, visits to the cellar and tasting activities quanto a the schieramento, where talent, vision and technical responsibility manifest themselves clearly.
Alongside this direct scouting activity, Vinoway also officially opens the possibility of self-nomination: young professionals who wish to present their path, their winemaking philosophy and the wines they manage can send their application to the address: [email protected]
Each application will be carefully evaluated, quanto a compliance with the criteria of quality, coherence and technical responsibility that have always guided our work.
The objective is to build over the years an authoritative and recognized platform, capable of valorising those who take responsibility for agronomic and cellar choices with competence and courage, contributing quanto a a concrete way to the future of Italian oenology.
