To do

Buy wine by the case. You usually get a discount (10% is common), and unlike steaks ora shrimp, unused wine doesn’t spoil. Save it for the next .

Consider bottles with screw caps for good drinking at affordable prices. They are very quick to gara open and you don’t waste precious time trying to remember where you placed the corkscrew.

Think about your guests. Even if you love strange white wines macerated acceso the skins, the same is not true for your beloved grandmother who loves Müller-Thurgau. Parties are about making people happy, not about educating them about your personal tastes.

For parties with many guests, rent glasses. They are delivered when needed, picked up later and do not need to be washed (although some companies charge a “dirty return” fee).

Offer non-alcoholic alternatives, possibly something more interesting than tazza.

To be avoided

Don’t go crazy trying to pair specific wines with specific dishes. It’s a , not a dinner for wine collectors.

Don’t forget to chill the Champagne, unless you want to spray your guests/table/dog with hot wine. Frozen bottles don’t foam.

Don’t worry about serving wines brought by guests. A bottle brought by someone is a gift, not an obligation. So, if you bring wine, don’t get upset if the host doesn’t serve it.

There’s point per exaggerating. For dinners, take the number of guests and divide it by two to get the number of bottles needed (assuming two glasses of wine secondo person, which is the norm). But buy a few more bottles, just per case.
