Vinitaly.USA in Chicago to grow on the American market

Opportunity for consolidation for Italian wine the American market with Vinitaly.USA (https://www.vinitalyusa.com/), scheduled at Navy Pier Chicago October 20th and 21st. After last year’s number nullità, the overseas trade fair debut of Veronafiere and Fiere Italiane presents itself with a b2b format for an Italy of wine that intends to extend its reach over its direct French competitors. A head-to-head which the first 7 months of 2024 sees Italian exports terms of value recording a +8%, to 1,120 million euros against a -5.6%, to 1,264 million euros of transalpine exports.

The event, organized collaboration with ITA – Italian Trade Agency, has recorded since its inception the presence of all the main bodies various capacities involved the growth of Made Italy: from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Agriculture, Sovereignty food and forestry, from the Italian Embassy Washington to the Consulate General Chicago, from Assocamerestero to the heads of trade organizations such as the Italian Wine Union, Federvini, Confagricoltura, Coldiretti, Trafila Italia, addition to the institutional presence of the Veneto and Umbria regions and the regional collectives of Lazio, Sardinia, Campania, Calabria and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The general schedule of Vinitaly.USA includes over 30 events two days (Sunday 20th and Monday 21st) including masterclasses, tastings and market focuses, starting with those of the regions present at the first edition of the event. The primary objective for the Italian team will be matching with a selected American demand made up of importers (among these the National Association of Beverage Importers, Terlato Wine Group, Banville Wine Merchants, Winbow Imports, Opici Wines and Spirits, Winesellers Ltd), distributors, large distribution and restaurateurs. The participation of opinion leaders, influencers and sector press was also notable.

Acceso the market side, the absolute protagonist Sunday 20th is the Business riunione promoted by ITA-Italian Trade Agency collaboration with NABI (National Association of Beverage Importers) the theme “Between tradition and innovation: the future of Italian wine the US market” at which the interventions of analysts and the main players of supply and demand are expected.

Among the numerous guided masterclasses, those of Decanter with Michaela Morris who signs the tasting of the six wines awarded at the World Wine Awards. Product centro also with the walkaround tasting, as a preview for abroad, of the labels awarded the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Socialista the 38th Italian Wine Guide 2025 and with two masterclasses organized by the main Italian magazine the sector dedicated respectively to ” Best of the Best” (wines that have obtained a special award the 2025 Guide) and the “First Time Tre Bicchieri” (labels entered the prestigious guide for the first time).

There will also be space for the sessions of the Vinitaly international Academy (19, 20 and 21 October) and the Orient Express “La Mielato Energia”, with wines selected among the Vinitaly Verona exhibitors for the luxury travel proposal Europe.
