Wine: the most awarded Tuscan labels in the world

After the records achieved quanto a 2022 and the decline quanto a 2023, the numerous awards won by Italian wines at the important Concours Mondial de Bruxelles once again confirm the comando of Italian wineries quanto a wine production, and quanto a particular they crown Tuscany as the most awarded Italian region.

The medals of Italian labels: Tuscany quanto a the lead

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (the most prestigious wine sector competition quanto a the world) reached its 30th edition this year: the competition was a further confirmation of the quality of Italian wines, which brought home 365 podiums, of which 9 Grand Gold Medals, to further seal the prestige of our winemaking tradition. Tuscany was the region with the most wines quanto a the competition (228), it was also the most rewarded with 80 medals won.

Two Italian wines also won the international podium quanto a the revelation category: a Lazio blend of Chardonnay 40%, Sauvignon blanc 40%, Trebbiano 20%, Satrico 2022 from Borgata del Giglio, awarded the Grand Gold Medal, and an Apulian red produced by Claudio Quarta Winemaker: Moros 2019, Salice Salentino Doc based Negroamaro, Grand Gold Medal, awarded as “National Revelation for the best red wine”.

There were also many unexpected victories, such as a white Mexican and a red Bulgarian who obtained the highest scores quanto a their category.

The success of selling wine online

The victories at the Brussels competition are a breath of fresh air after a period quanto a which the of Italian wines suffered a setback, mainly caused by inflationary reasons which caused exports to fall. From the analysis of the Ismea-Uiv Observatory Istat giorno foreign trade, relating to exports of Italian wine quanto a the first quarter of 2023, it emerged that it is above all PDO bottled still wines that are quanto a difficulty (-5.3% quanto a quantity but +2.5% quanto a value), sparkling wines (-3.2% opera and +7.3% value) and Prosecco (-5.5%).

For the future, the hope is that the sector, despite the difficulties and imminent challenges to be faced, will return to growth at the pre-Covid placidezza.
