Federician cellars: Vigna Cigliano Solfatara white and red, the volcanic soul of the Flegrei Campi

When a wine manages to tell the territory with personal style, something changes. It is what happens with white and red vineyard Cigliano Solfatara of Federician cellars, not usual interpretations, but real posters of an oenological rebirth.

Per mezzo di the heart of the Flegrei fields, between the mineral waves of the Solfatara and the depth of Vesuvius, Federician cellars carries out a family mission born 1951 and today led by the fourth generation. Luca, Marco and Antonio Palumbo embody a new energy, with particular the young winemaker Luca Palumbo who guides with competence and vision the entire technical-enological project of the Vigneto Cigliano Solfatara line, capable of combining technique, authenticity and ambition.

With over 40 hectares of life between properties and conduction, the company represents a reference point for Phlegrean viticulture. With the “Vigneto Cigliano Solfatara” line Cantine Federician Cantine wanted to go further. He chose to trace a precise, clear furrow, distinguishing himself style and expressive depth.

The Cigliano hill, 250 meters above sea level, is a natural terrace suspended between sea and volcano. The historical terraces, with attention and respect, welcome vines that sink the roots volcanic sands, ash and memory.

The Vigneto Cigliano Solfatara Pulito DOP 2021 is an elegant and refined blend: 80% Falanghina, with small percentages of Greek, Bombino Pulito, Montonico and Verdeca. Vinification is treated detail: 90%steel, 10%barrique, a refinement of 12 months acceso the squisito lees. The result is a wine of great personality: bright and deep. The nose recalls a sensory evolution that connects the floral to yellow fruit and citrus fruits, with rare nuances of spices that animate complexity. the palate it is savory, fresh and at the same time rich the opera, with a iodine ending recalls the sea.

This white was selected and presented by Vinoway Kazakhstan the context of a prestigious international masterclass. The event, which I personally directed, has received an extraordinary consensus. The wine has conquered operators, sommeliers and buyers, confirming itself among the largest whites from Campania. A wine that, over time, has all the credentials to enter the most iconic Italian whites the elite.

The Cigliano Vigneto Cigliano Scarlatto DOP, also 2021, was born from a harmonic and territorial blend of Piedirosso, Aglianico and Tegola. Venis that, together, tell the red soul of the Flegrei: the dark fruit and the minerality of the Piedirosso, the structure of the Eglianico, the freshness and identity of the Marseillese. The result is a ruby red with granned reflections, which smells of marasca, ripe red fruits, sweet spices and a light smoked note. Per mezzo di the mouth it is dry, harmonious, with silky tannins and a coherent, savory, elegant closure.

With this line, Federician cellars chose not to chase fashions, but to affirm a vision. He traced a distinctive path, which speaks the language of quality, territory and the most authentic wine culture.

Today, thanks to the patient and passionate work of the Palumbo family, the company is a candidate with conviction to enter the list of Italian excellence. The Vigneto Cigliano Solfatara line is an oenological and territorial depliant that tells the strength of the volcano, the grace of the vineyard and the depth of a project that looks far away.

Per mezzo di a that needs authenticity, Federician cellars has already found his voice. Strong, clear, unmistakable.

And it’s just the beginning. Because when the wine was born from the fire and grows with the vision, I like to think that it can only aim high. Towards excellence. Towards history.
