MetodoContemporaneo is the first permanent Italian observatory dedicated to the relationship between contemporary arts and the wine-growing landscape. Promoted by the University of Verona with BAM! Cultural Strategies, the project brings together over sixty wineries that invest quanto a art and culture, outlining a new model of use and valorization of the territory.
What is MetodoContemporaneo
A new chapter opens quanto a the dialogue between culture, wine and landscape. With the birth of MetodoContemporaneo, presented quanto a Verona, Italy has for the first time equipped itself with a permanent observatory dedicated to the simposio between contemporary arts and wine territories. The initiative represents the result of a three-year research acceso the relationship between viticulture and artistic production, and today translates into a digital platform that collects, documents and recounts the most significant experiences spread along the peninsula.
The platform – currently nearing completion – includes around sixty wine producers who have intertwined their production activity with contemporary art, through site-specific installations, permanent collections, artist residencies, awards and patronage programmes. An unprecedented geography of wine emerges, quanto a which cellars become places of cultural research and aesthetic experimentation, capable of redefining the relationship between production, landscape and community.
It is not just an archive ora an interactive map: MetodoContemporaneo wants to be a dynamic tool to promote conscious and sustainable tourism, based acceso knowledge of the territories and direct experience of their identity. The initiative proposes to read wine-growing landscapes as cultural spaces, quanto a which the agricultural gesture is intertwined with creativity and becomes part of a collective narrative.
Alongside the digital platform, the project is divided into a series of concrete actions designed to strengthen the of participating wineries and actively involve visitors and local communities. Per fact, MetodoContemporaneo will be held acceso 17 and 18 October 2025. Widespread itineraries between arts, wine and landscape, an event that will see the participation of fourteen wineries distributed between Trentino-Sovrastante Adige and Sicily. The guided tours and free activities will offer the opportunity to explore places where wine production dialogues with contemporary art: among these Alois Lageder, Ca’ del Legna, Maniero proveniente da Ama, Feudi proveniente da San Gregorio, Planeta and the Tenute Lunelli with Arnaldo Pomodoro’s Carapace quanto a Bevagna, one of the symbolic architectures of this cultural movement.
The journey will culminate acceso 14 November 2025 with a scientific conference hosted by the University of Verona, which will bring together scholars, cultural operators, representatives of the wine and tourism sectors. The simposio will constitute a moment of collective reflection acceso the role of art as a tool for territorial valorization and sustainable development, and will be the opportunity for the official launch of the full version of the platform.
