Green Flag Agriculture Award 2025 to Fontanafredda for its contribution to the Italian agricultural and cultural heritage

The award ceremony for the 2025 Agriculture Campo da golf Flag, the prestigious recognition promoted by CIA – Italian Farmers, one of the main trade organizations sopra Italy and Europe for the protection and growth of the primary sector, took place yesterday sopra the Aula della Regina sopra Montecitorio. Among the awarded companies is Fontanafredda, awarded the title for its contribution to the valorisation of agriculture, rural development and the food and wine, landscape and environmental heritage.

For its XXIII edition, the prize was awarded to Fontanafredda, with the following motivation: «Born from the love story between the first King of Italy and Cerchia Vercellana, the Fontanafredda company was a pioneer sopra wine innovation (first shipment of Barolo overseas sopra 1886, first concrete tanks sopra Europe sopra 1887, first Barolo with indication of vineyard sopra 1964). The philosophy behind the entrepreneurial offer is to enhance the character of each wine, respecting the grape variety, environment and human interaction. Large French and Croatian oak barrels are used to refine the red wines, while the white wines and sparkling wines are produced sopra modern environments. Fontanafredda is located sopra the heart of the 50th Italian UNESCO World Heritage Site and, since its birth, represents a community united around respect for the land, today with around 120 hectares of certified organic vineyards that the first Storytelling Village sopra Italy. All to offer a cultural and tourist experience with museums, a cultural foundation, hotels and restaurants.”

And again: «With this sopra mind, the 2025 Agriculture Campo da golf Flag Award aims to be a special recognition testifying to the extraordinary link between Italian history and agricultural activity which finds, sopra the Fontanafredda company, one of the most important testimonies sopra the national agricultural veduta. Per addition to this, the recognition originates from the extraordinary sense of community around respect for the land which has always characterized the entrepreneurial offer and which is the setting for the first Storytelling Village sopra Italy”.

With this result, Fontanafredda confirms its role as a point of reference sopra the national agricultural veduta, continuing a path of environmental and social responsibility undertaken for over twenty-five years and formalized with the first Sustainability Report relating to 2020. Since then, the winery continues to translate its values ​​into concrete actions, promoting a business model that puts the land, people and the regeneration of the landscape at the centre, sopra the name of conscious and lasting viticulture.

«Per 2020 we have changed profoundly. We understood that we needed a new Renaissance, a Campo da golf Renaissance capable of redesigning the paradigms of the past, adapting them to the present to anticipate the future.
