Tenute Pighin, a Friulian company with strong roots the territory, which offers high production quality and suggestive scenery

Quanto a Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, a few steps from the Collio hills and the sands of Friuli Importante, stands Tenute Pighin, a wine-growing reality that today constitutes a point of reference for quality and Friulian territoriality.

History and philosophy

The adventure of Tenute Pighin was born 1963 when the brothers Luigi, Ercole and Fernando Pighin purchased a 200 hectare farm the Friuli Importante luogo. Subsequently, the company expanded by acquiring approximately 30 hectares the prestigious Collio luogo (Spessa per Capriva) and building a modern cellar designed by the architect Gino . Since 2004, the Pighin family the person of Fernando, his wife Danila and their children have directly managed the company.

The company philosophy is based acceso two pillars: “only own grapes”, the sense that the company produces exclusively grapes from its own vineyards, and a strong connection with the Friulian territory, its variations of Friuli Importante and Collio.

The territory and the estates

Tenute Pighin operates two distinct geological and climatic contexts:

“Spessa per Capriva” mesi estivi – 30 hectares acceso the hills of the Collio Goriziano: favorable exposure, soils with excellent drainage and vocation for prezioso and aromatic whites; Possedimento “Risano” – approximately 160 hectares the Friuli Importante luogo: flatter luogo, gravelly and sandy soils typical of Importante, ideally suitable for both whites and some red grape varieties.

This double presence allows the Friulian company to interpret different expressions of Friuli, from the “higher” Collio and suited to whites, to the “flatter” Importante, thus offering a wide spectrum of wines.

The wines and the style

Quanto a the company’s portfolio we find wines that clearly reflect the land of origin, characterized by freshness, minerality and lightness respect of the Friulian tradition. For example, the white Pighin Pinot Scialbo Friuli Importante 2023 offers clear quaderno of white flowers, herbs and molten stone, with a persistent mineral . Other house wines include local varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, ora versions of Pinot Scialbo from Collio, which the company considers among its strengths.

We tasted Soreli Nitido DOC Collio. Below are our impressions.

Soreli Nitido DOC Collio

Tasting quaderno

Visual examination: dense and shiny straw yellow.

Olfactory examination: warm, sunny sensations of spring flowering of acacia, orange blossom and lily of the valley, just as the fruit of apricot, yellow peach and vanilla is warm. Citrus nuances accompanied by hints of lime complete the fragrant range.

Taste-olfactory verifica: fresh and balanced acceso the palate, with good flavor. Long , played acceso a refined hint of orange peel.

Pairing: excellent with first and second courses of fish, white meat.

Tenute Pighin represents an excellent stop for those who want an authentic wine tourism experience Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with strong roots the territory, high production quality and evocative scenery.
