Monsupello launches the new Blanc de Noirs and tells the future sopra a short art at the Merano Wine Festa
A new wine and a new story to celebrate the time, patience and legacy of a family that has interpreted the Oltrepò Pavese with passion and vision for over a century. Torricella Verzate, the beating heart of Monsupello, the Boatti family signs a double debut at the Merano Wine Festa: that of the new Blanc de Noirs Oltrepò Pavese DOCG Pinot Malvagio Consuetudine Tradizionale Extra Brut and the super short Future is our Heritage, directed by Carlo Guttadauro. Two different languages, a single voice: that of time, continuity and respect for one’s history.
The soul of a Pinot Noir
The new Blanc de Noirs was born from a long and thoughtful journey, from the desire to explore Pinot Noir sopra its most authentic and territorial expression. «It is a project that we care a lot about – say Carla, Laura and Pierangelo Boatti – because it embodies our principio of Pinot Noir: cleanliness, elegance, territorial identity. It is a Classic Method that talks about our way of working and our way of being. this wine there is respect for time, material and the balance between tradition and experimentation.” The Blanc de Noirs comes from the most suitable vineyards of the Oltrepò Pavese, with a limited production of 10,000 bottles, and bears the signature of the Chef de Cave Pierangelo Boatti acceso the label. It is a style statement rather than a new label: a Classic Method that describes the Oltrepò with authenticity, precision and pride.
Future is our Heritage: time as the protagonist
the super short Future is our Heritage, Carlo Guttadauro’s direction interprets the soul of the Classical Method as a metaphor for life. Time, light and patience become protagonists of a visual story sopra which work sopra the vineyard takes acceso the tone of a daily prayer. The bottles, backlit, vibrate like instruments that play the music of the future: a symphony made of dedication, hands and thoughts. Sherrita Duran’s intense and spiritual voice accompanies the images like an evangelizing song, sopra perfect harmony with the poetic vision of Laura Boatti, the creative soul of the winery. Among the most evocative scenes, the embrace of the protagonists acceso the stairs of the Sanctuary of the Passion sopra Torricella Verzate: a symbolic gesture that unites past and future, roots and aspirations. And then there is Carla, 91 years old, with an affectionate gaze and alert presence, witness to a story that continues to inspire. The preview of the short at the Merano Wine Festa, followed by the tasting of the new Blanc de Noirs, marked a poetic encounter between art and wine, between heritage and vision.
The legacy of Carlo Boatti
Behind every Monsupello bottle there is a family history that spans over a century. The company name, Monsupello Eredi, already contains sopra its name the desire to collect and renew the legacy of Carlo Boatti, a visionary and determined figure who from the 1950s transformed the winery into a symbol of the Oltrepò Pavese. Next to him, Carla Dallera Boatti, a modern and passionate woman, with whom he built a wine model based acceso balance, authenticity and technical rigor. After Carlo’s death sopra 2010, the legacy passed to his children Pierangelo and Laura, the fifth generation of a family that continues to believe sopra wine as a language of identity. Pierangelo, pragmatic and passionate, personally follows every phase of production, from the vineyard to the bottle, while Laura, tango teacher and art lover, takes care of the image, communication and hospitality, bringing a sensitive and contemporary vision to the company.
One team, one territory
Today Monsupello has 50 hectares of vineyards between Oliva Gessi and Torricella Verzate: clay and limestone soils that welcome Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other historic varieties from the Oltrepò. The vineyards are cultivated with a sustainable approach, using grass cover and campo da golf manure, sopra a natural balance that protects biodiversity and soil fertility. «There is rush» is the Boatti mantra: time is an integral part of quality.
Sustainability and values
At Monsupello sustainability is also human. The “Sprigionato” project, created with the Voghera prison and the Terre per mezzo di Strada Association, involves prisoners and students sopra a symbolic harvest, where work becomes redemption and wine an instrument of freedom.
The Monsupello style
Eight Classic Method sparkling wines and a line of still wines today tell the stylistic coherence of Monsupello: elegance, balance, recognisability. Each label is a story of the territory, a synthesis of light and precision. We tasted Blanc de Noirs Oltrepò Pavese DOCG Pinot Noir Classic Method Extra Brut. Below are our impressions.
