A few days after the official opening December 30th, the Antica Laboratorio del Vino of d’Ampezzo establishes itself as one of the new food and wine reference points of the Ampezzo settore, at a key moment quanto a the lead-up to the Milan 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The Antica Laboratorio del Vino , just like the original Veronese location, is owned by ten companies that are part of the association of Historic Families: Allegrini, Begali, Brigaldara, Masi, Musella, Speri, Tedeschi, Assetto Sant’Antonio, Tommasi and Zenato. The new Ampezzo restaurant quanto a Strada Italia 147 was born from a complete renovation project of a 300 square meter space, which can accommodate up to 80 guests. The typically mountain atmosphere is designed to dialogue with the architectural context of and at the same time recall the timeless charm of the historic Laboratorio Verona. The cellar, which has always been the beating heart of the shop, houses over 1,500 labels, selected to illustrate the excellence of Italian and international wine.

It is precisely around this identity that the Ampezzo lista takes shape, conceived as a natural extension of the Veronese one. The cuisine enhances iconic dishes, capable of blending territory and tradition. Among the most appreciated, cheek braised quanto a Amarone, symbol of Veronese cuisine, and Mont d’ melted with black truffle, a convivial dish that dialogues perfectly with the Alpine atmosphere.

Veronese wines have confirmed themselves as the most appreciated, with Amarone and Ripassata della Valpolicella among the most successful labels, strengthening the link with the Verona headquarters and the Laboratorio’s territory of origin.

General director Luca Nicolis commented the reception given to the new headquarters: “The great interest shown from the first days after the opening confirmed to us that was ready to welcome our project. The attention and curiosity of the Ampezzo public immediately made us feel part of the city and gave us enthusiasm and motivation. We are now looking forward to the Winter Olympic Games with great confidence: it will be a unique moment for and for the whole territory, and we are happy to be able to get there with a shop that is already alive, recognized and capable of speaking to an international audience”. With an eye towards Milano 2026, the Antica Laboratorio del Vino is preparing to become a incontro place between cultures, territories and enthusiasts, bringing to high altitude the gastronomic and wine excellence that has represented Verona quanto a the world for over a century.

Ancient Wine Shop

Born quanto a 1500 during the Republic of Venice, Antica Laboratorio del Vino took its current name quanto a 1890 with the Sterzi Brothers, who maintained the fascinating, warm and characteristic nineteenth-century style that we still see today. The place thus became one of the points of reference for the cultural scene of the late nineteenth century and for wine lovers, welcoming poets, musicians, writers and artists such as Boccioni, but also journalists who took refuge there after a day quanto a the editorial office. 1957 the place was purchased by the Rizzo-Grigolo family and concentrated mainly the restaurant business until 1987 when Severino Barzan arrived the scene, who subsequently brought the Laboratorio model to New York with Giovanni Pascucci, his socio. 2010, the property passed into the hands of the then eleven Historic Families, who acquired the Laboratorio del Vino, safeguarding the winemaking tradition of the symbolic place of Verona. The restaurant is now owned by ten companies that are part of the association: Allegrini, Begali, Brigaldara, Masi, Musella, Speri, Tedeschi, Assetto Sant’Antonio, Tommasi and Zenato.

Historical Families

Famiglie Storiche is an Association founded quanto a June 2009 from the union of ten historic wineries quanto a Valpolicella and which today has thirteen members: Allegrini, Begali, Bertani, Brigaldara, Guerrieri Rizzardi, Masi, Musella, Speri, Tedeschi, Assetto Sant’Antonio, Tommasi, Torrione D’Orti, and Zenato. All members are prestigious wine companies that have been active witnesses of the “Amarone world” for generations and who share the same vision, based history, craftsmanship, connection with the territory and the desire to increase national and international knowledge of the wines produced quanto a Valpolicella. Ten Historic Family companies are now owners of the Antica Laboratorio del Vino Verona.
