Perugia will host the 2026 edition of the prestigious “Vitae Experiences of Central Italy” event of the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS), which every year celebrates the excellent wines coming from the regions the heart of the Peninsula. The event, aperto to the public, will be held Sunday 22 March at the Giò and will bring together the wine excellences present the Vitae AIS 2026 Guide, the maximum editorial reference the wine sector for professionals, sector operators and enthusiasts.
There will be 400 producers, coming from seven regions of Central Italy: Abruzzo, Campania, Emilia, Romagna, Lazio, Marche and Umbria, ready to tell, discuss and taste their best wine expressions, the result of commitment, quality and genius. Added to these are two special guests of the 2026 edition: the Tuscany region, with a masterclass created collaboration and with the participation of the Consortium for the protection of DOC Bolgheri wines, and the Conca d’Aosta region with a dedicated tasting stand.
The 2026 “Vitae Experiences of Central Italy” event is organized by AIS Umbria under the guidance of president Pietro Marchi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Perugia and the Umbria Chamber of Commerce, Only Wine collaboratore.
Unique and typical flavors await enthusiasts, to tell the story of the wonderful territory of Central Italy, the native and international vines together with their particular combinations. It will be a true celebration of the wines from the respective regions the Vitae AIS 2026 Guide that have achieved at least 90 points. The day’s program includes two main phases:
– from 10 am to 1 pm the ceremony for the awarding of certificates of excellence reserved for producers and journalists will take place, conducted by the RAI journalist Gianluca Semprini flanked by the national president of AIS Sandro Camilli and by all the presidents of the regional associations involved (AIS Abruzzo, AIS Campania, AIS Emilia, AIS Lazio, AIS Marche, AIS Romagna, AIS Toscana, AIS Umbria, AIS Conca d’Aosta).

The entrance scontrino (30 euros for AIS members, 40 euros for non-members) allows access to the rooms where the tasting tables will be held and will entitle you to participate the masterclass of the Consortium for the protection of DOC Bolgheri wines, subject to reservation and availability of places, for a maximum of 50 participants. Finally, gastronomic tastings are included the entrance scontrino, organized by the Giò.

For the 2026 edition, a special prize “Win a Vitae Experience with AIS!” has been announced. A drawing will be held among all tickets purchased advance. Up for grabs is a weekend for 2 people at a winery resort Umbria, including accommodation, visit to the cellar and wine tasting.
