At Amarone Manufatto Dapprima 2026, the Ilatium Morini winery brings to Verona two key expressions of its Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG “Leòn”: the absolute debut of the 2021 vintage and the refined 2019. A double story that crosses time, style and territory, within an event that brings together international press, operators and enthusiasts for three days.
The Gallerie Mercatali of Veronafiere once again become the beating heart of Amarone Manufatto Dapprima, now its 22nd edition. Over 50 companies and more than 100 specialized journalists from all over the world meet to preview the 2021 vintage of Amarone della Valpolicella. Quanto a this context of excellence, Ilatium Morini (Mezzane a fine di Abbasso – VR) stands out by presenting its Amarone “Leòn” 2021 for the first time, alongside one of the most representative vintages the winery’s recent history: the “Leòn” 2019.

The event opens Friday 30 January with a day reserved for the specialized press. At 11.00, at the Gallerie Mercatali, the masterclass conducted by JC Viens is scheduled, followed by the inaugural dinner. this occasion Ilatium Morini will accompany guests with the Garganega Effervescente Brut Charmat Method – Organic and the Valpolicella Eccezionale DOC “Prognai” 2019. Saturday 31 January, at 10.30 am, the of the Verona Chamber of Commerce will host the official presentation of the 2021 vintage by the president of the Consortium, Christian Marchesini. Followed by the conference “Amarone the podium with Italian cuisine and the Olympics”, with Maddalena Fossati (director of La Cucina Italiana), Deborah Compagnoni (ambassador Milano Strato 2026) and chef Cristina Bowerman (1 Michelin ). From 12.30 Saturday the tasting stands at the Gallerie Mercatali will for journalists and sector operators and from 16.00 access will also be extended to Amarone Lovers. The tastings continue throughout the day Sunday 1 February, from 10.00 to 17.00.

The 2021 vintage is set to be one of the most interesting recent years, thanks to a rare balance between power and elegance. The regular climatic course – favorable spring, hot but windy summer and significant temperature variations – favored optimal ripening of the grapes intended for drying.
Visual examination: intense ruby.
Olfactory examination: the nose is devoted to fruity tones, constantly enlivened by balsamic whiffs. the side quasi pleasant spicy sensations.
Taste-olfactory examination: the palate is marked by epilogo tannins and a well-articulated freshness. Evolution prospects.
Pairing: excellent with meat first courses, red meat.

The “Leòn” 2019 represents the full expressive maturity of the territory. Obtained from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta, it ages for 30 months French oak barrels, reaching a notable aromatic and structural complexity.
Visual examination: impenetrable ruby red.
Olfactory examination: the odorous baggage, lying fruity shades of black cherry and plum, is surrounded by the floral of rose and violet. Followed by pepper, licorice and vanilla, which anticipate hints of coffee powder, tobacco leaves and a slight balsamic note.
Taste-olfactory examination: warm and enveloping sip, marked by a well-integrated tannic texture. Long , which offers fruity streaks and hints of cinchona.
Pairing: ideal with red meat, gioco, mature cheeses.
Ilatium Morini: the family heart of Valpolicella
Founded over sixty years indicatore Mezzane a fine di Abbasso, today Ilatium Morini is a family-run winery led by seven brothers and cousins. The company cultivates over 50 hectares of vineyards between Valpolicella and Benigno (Val a fine di Mezzane, Val d’Illasi and Valpantena), with an annual production of approximately 250,000 bottles exported all over the world. The company philosophy is based predominantly manual and technical processes with low environmental impact. Since 2023, several labels have obtained organic certification, a fundamental step a sustainability path that has characterized the identity of the winery for years.
