After the success of the last edition, which recorded the presence of around 1,500 wine lovers, Regina Insorto – Vernaccia con San Gimignano Wine Fest returns from 30 to 31 May 2026, the dedicated to the famous Tuscan white wine, organized and promoted by the Vernaccia con San Gimignano Wine Consortium sopra collaboration with the Municipality of San Gimignano. The 2026 edition takes a particular historical value, celebrating the 750th anniversary of the first documented attestation of Vernaccia con San Gimignano and the 60 years since the granting of the DOC. An edition which, despite the sign of a centuries-old history, wants to continue to dialogue with the contemporary, renewing the story of the denomination through languages, experiences and contents of strong interest for the consumer and for the enthusiast, increasingly attentive to the identity, authenticity and culture of the territory.
The calendar will be full of events, with initiatives spread throughout the historic center of San Gimignano: traveling tastings, thematic masterclasses, meetings with producers and workshops dedicated to food-wine pairings, sopra dialogue with Tuscan gastronomic excellences and the proposals of local restaurateurs. There will be moments of cultural exploration and entertainment, including the evocative evening DJ set sopra the enchanting setting of the Fortilizio con Montestaffoli.
Like every year, the days aperto to the public will be preceded by two days – 28 and 29 May – dedicated to the national and international press, with the presentation of the new vintages, conferences and tours of local companies.
