Barbaresco 2021: An explosion of fruit and territory

Angelo Negro Barbaresco Basarin 2021 97 Red.

Abundant and spicy in the sensorial profile it reveals notes of cherries, black cherries, red plums, mandarin peel and vetiver. The hot background alternates notes of juniper berries, cumin and black pepper. Complete body, tannins with an extremely great texture and excellent character and a surface that right away thrills. To be awaited as the strong liveliness will require to be relaxed. Much better from 2027.

Rizzi Barbaresco Rizzi 2021 96 Red.

Abundant and spicy, it reveals a fascinating sensorial profile similar to red plums, cherries, currants, wild strawberries, black cherries, wild myrtle and lemon peel. Medium-full body, completely ripe soft tannins and an extremely elegant and unified surface that provides charm to every sip. Extraordinary grace combined with development.

Rizzi Barbaresco Pajorè 2021 96 Red.

It shines in the glass with an extremely interesting complex nose. Notes of red plums, wild strawberries, sliced cedar and guarana explain the primary scene. The green tea leaves and withered increased petals the secondary one. Medium body, grace and knowledge perk up the honorable sip, the smooth tannins inform what Pajorè is made from and the surface is juicy and distinctly welcoming when gone back to the glass. Much better from 2025.

Collina Serragrilli Barbaresco Starderi 2021 95 Red.

Accurate and direct, it reveals significant energy and character in the notes of blackberries, red plums, liquorice, wild fennel, guarana, blood orange, sandalwood, white pepper and dates. Medium-full body, distinctly biting tannins and a surface of excellent oenological depth. A genuine spear in the sip. Much better from 2027.

Rizzi Barbaresco Nervo 2021 95 Red.

It thrills and right away strikes with the fantastic color arising from a vine and an area that reveal sophistication. The subtleties of currants, raspberries and pomegranate mix well with vibrant touches of flint, guarana and karkadè. Medium body, completely ripe tannins, biting at the minute and an extremely consistent surface. Much better from 2026.

Piazzo Comm. Armando Barbaresco Pajorè 2021 94 Red.

Slim and with exceptional sensorial character, it reveals notes of jasmine, hawthorn, wild thyme, guarana, wild strawberries and peaches. Complete body, biting and vibrant tannins and a genuinely consistent surface. Much better from 2026.

Scrimaglio Barbaresco 2021 93 Red.

Extremely ripe and abundant in the generous sensorial matrix, it is similar to red plums, strawberries, sliced cedar, elderflower, jasmine and karkadè. Medium body, soft, well-polished tannins and an extremely classy and refined tasty surface. How gorgeous. Much better from 2026.

Poderi Colla Barbaresco Roncaglie 2021 93 Red.

Cherries, raspberries, black cherries, rosemary, lemongrass, sweet almonds and guarana explain the primary profile of this young Barbaresco. Medium body, completely ripe tannins and a stylish and yummy surface of excellent skill. Much better from 2025.

Vine Colte Barbaresco La Casa in Collina 2021 92 Red.

Agile and vibrant in the primary matrix it is similar to cherries, currants, limes and karkadè. Medium body, soft tannins and an enjoyable surface. Much better from 2024.

Francone Antichi Poderi dei Gallina Barbaresco Albesani 2021 92 Red.

Ripe and pleasing in its sensorial profile, it reveals notes of red plums, black plums, blackberries, wild myrtle, juniper berries and cumin. Medium body, a little chewy tannins and a strong and compact surface that closes spicy and engaging. Much better from 2026.

Piazzo Comm. Armando Barbaresco Argè 2021 91 Red.

Warm and covering in its sensorial profile, it reveals notes of geraniums, strawberries, red plums and mandarin juice. Medium body, soft tannins and a medium development surface. Consume now.

Francone Antichi Poderi dei Gallina Barbaresco Starderi 2021 91 Red.

Direct and interesting it reveals notes of ginger, lime, bergamot, ginseng root and guarana. Medium body, soft tannins of exceptional quality and a subtle and important surface that provides instant enjoyment. Much better from 2026.
