Per mezzo di 2024 the wine family of #TenutaMazzolino expands: #Henry 2017 debuts, a limited edition of #PinotNero which embodies the soul and passion of the winery itself. Henry is the result of a project born at the end of the nineties. “It was born from a bold proposito and the visionary approach of my grandfather and our Greek-French winemaker Kyriakos Kynigopoulos,” explains Francesca Seralvo, now at the helm of the winery.

“Per mezzo di 1999, when the impact of global warming the world of wine was already clear, they decided to invest per mezzo di a vineyard that faces the opposite side of the others, i.e. towards the east”. These two hectares are divided into four quadrants and per mezzo di each are planted cuttings coming directly from Burgundy which represent four very traditional clones.

“Per mezzo di 2017 – a year with exceptionally hot weather conditions – the vineyard is now of age and the time is ripe for a first taste”, continues Francesca, “We have selected the most interesting portion of the vineyard, based the 115 clone per mezzo di purity. Result? Great potential, but needed more time.” It is an austere vineyard, a difficult vine, it must be able to “grow” further to express itself at its best. A wait that is rewarded today.

Henry 2017 debuts this year, a unique and rare production: a limited edition of only 495 bottles, each numbered. “Each label is different from the other!”, reveals Francesca. “The label is per mezzo di fact embellished with ever-changing images of Henry”. But who is Henry? “It is our iconic donkey, our mascot, which symbolizes the authenticity and tradition of our mesi estivi,” Francesca reveals smiling. An animal that – despite its reputation – is curious, faithful and intelligent. And which per mezzo di the Terre Mazzolino labels shows non attivato 495 different looks of its coat. “A way to make the bottles of our super cru even more unique!”, concludes Francesca.
