Costa Paradiso: a name that says it all, we’re in Paradise
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

through We were contacted us to operate in Sardinia in October, exactly in a nature reserve location called Costa Paradiso. So we left, passionate and curious to find a brand-new location, one that’s absolutely uncommon.

Sardinia is among the biggest areas in Italy, loaded with parks and naturally verdant locations with large and long, spectacular beaches. When I got here, I figured we ‘d be on a broad and long beach, However I was incorrect.

Once we left the ferryboat we drove towards Costa Paradiso and the roadway appeared unlimited. It was a gorgeous October night, we took a trip through miles of barren and rocky fields where there was absolutely nothing, just goats and sheep grazing, no coffee shop, no homes, really couple of roadway indications and no streetlights along the method. We lastly went into in Costa Paradiso– a rocky red piece of Sardinia, aromatic of myrtle and rosemary, concealed by Mediterranean plant life, a series of narrow streets that caused numerous homes: it appeared like a maze. We were tired from the heat and the journey so we went directly to bed. Throughout the night swines concerned go to, we might hear them from the window of our lodging. That “see” made it clear that we remained in a wild and distinct location.

Li Cossi in Costa Paradiso

The early morning after, we searched for amongst the rocks and saw countless homes integrated in the thick rosemary bushes, nestled in between the rocks. We inquired about this and our customer informed us the story of how this location was born. At the end of the 1960s and start of the Seventies, came the advancement of the very first vacation homes (simply a handful) consisting of the summer season home of the most well-known number of the time, filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni and starlet Monica Vitti. Today there are 3,500 homes and 2,500 owners, and roughly 200 of them live here year round. We walked and discovered among the most gorgeous courses causing the ideal cove that’s just available on foot by method of a scraggy course called Li Cossi. At the middle is an amazing perspective exposing intense colors, a remote beach where the water is a spectacular scheme that varies from blue-green to deep blue. The rocks surrounding it paint a red and pink frame.

The location is remarkable with his wild soul. And while it holds true that in summer season the location is tailored for tourists with services, we existed in October. In a nature reserve in the off-season all that exists to appreciate is Nature at its finest. Throughout the day we strolled together with swines, during the night the birds and the fresh air lulled us to sleep. The silence was definitely ideal, producing a distinct connection with Nature. In October daytime still seemed like summer season, and at night we ‘d sit outdoors under a blanket, enjoying the sundown. The light here is wonderful, bouncing off the red rocks and the green of the plant life, it painted a photo that silenced us. This light play made the crystal clear waters shine even brighter.

However this was not simply a paradise for the eyes and the soul. There are tastes that are difficult to forget on a psychological journey. Among these was the apparent sweet taste of seadas, conventional fried pastry dessert filled with cheese and sprinkled in dark honey. Born as a modest and healthy meal, seadas were initially a specialized crafted by shepherds’ other halves for their partners’ return from operate in the fields. This is a taste I will not forget and will not quickly discover somewhere else. (perhaps never ever!) In summer season the location comes to life with tiny markets, stores, dining establishments, coffee shop, pool, pastry shops, drug stores, butchers and charming locations to sit and have aperitivo. Boat leasings and other micro-businesses work for brief transfers. Costa Paradiso is not a little town however a world apart, a distinct truth. Plainly, this is the part of wild Sardinia that’s less advertised, without a doubt. The sort of location we like to feature! They state that absolutely nothing occurs by opportunity, I like to believe that if I wound up here, in the wildest part of higher Sardinia, it’s since it was implied to be, and I definitely fell for Costa Paradiso.
