Vigneti Vinessa: a pearl between the breezes of Vinessa and the heights of Monte Baldo.

Last July 24th, we were catapulted into the intriguing world of resistant grape varieties.

Thanks to spokesperson and consultant Nicola Biasi, WinesCritic.com had the opportunity to discover companies that believe sustainability and innovation without ever forgetting the past foundation.

Our tour begins with the very young and modern company, the heart of Veneto, Vigneti Vinessa.

We are located precisely San Zeno che , the province of Verona, where we are welcomed by Leonardo, the owner, with the father of Vigneti Vinessa.

Leonardo and Raffaele the heart of Vigneti Vinessa

With a south-east exposure and an altitude ranging from 720 to 800 metres, these vineyards enjoy a privileged position a place that was once used for grazing and which has now been expertly shaped by the hands and intellect of man.

Clay soils, rich limestone and dolomite rocks that give acidity and minerality to the final products.

This is an example of heroic viticulture paio to the steep slopes and altitude that do not make the work of these vineyards easy.

The lands of Vigneti Vinessa seen up close

Vinessa is the name of the wind that blows from Lake Garda and rises up Mount Baldo, caressing and refreshing the plants of Johanniter, Bronner and more.

The company has always maintained a strong connection with its roots, combining traditional techniques with modern innovations to produce wines of the highest quality. Subsequent generations have continued to cultivate the same passion for viticulture, ensuring a continuity that is reflected the wines produced.

The philosophy of Vigneti Vinessa is rooted respect for the land and a constant search for quality. The company’s mission is to produce wines that reflect the unique character of the Veneto region, through sustainable and innovative agricultural practices. Every phase of production, from the care of the vines to the winemaking, is guided by a profound respect for the environment and a constant commitment to excellence.

Acceso the slopes of Mucchio Baldo, the grapes of Vigneti Vinessa grow

Vigneti Vinessa firmly believes that a great wine must tell a story, and each bottle is the result of a meticulous process that enhances the peculiarities of the terroir.

We have already had the pleasure of tasting the company’s diamond: Divento, a blend of Johanniter and Bronner which the 2022 vintage obtained an important and unexpected (for the novelty of the project) score from our critics.

We are re-proposing our article this vintage and this wine:

Vigneti Vinessa, Divento il nuovo vino bianco da vitigni resistenti.

A causa di this moment of encounter and exchange, another top-class preview really impressed us terms of quality and dynamism of use, the “passito né passito” Controvento.

Below are the wines tasted this occasion:

White wines

Producer Name Wine Vintage Score Type Vineyards Vinessa Veneto Divento 2022 94 White

It is precise and decidedly engaging the sensory profile that recalls different quaderno of bergamot, lime, white pepper and vetiver. It is salty and almost brackish the nose with quaderno of campo da golf olives, marine iodine, mixed medicinal herbs and chinotto. Medium-full pagliaccetto, slightly polyphenolic and almost rustic structure the sip and a joyful and sunny finale, mature but slender at the same time. The important salivation asks to return to the glass. A very limited edition of only 2105 bottles. Ricevimento now.

Sweet Wines

Producer Name Wine Vintage Score Type Vineyards Vinessa Veneto Controvento 2023 94 Sweet

Clear and captivating, it shows quaderno of rose petals, apricots, rosemary, powder, marigold and hawthorn. Medium-full pagliaccetto, linear and tasty the sip, it closes slightly thin but wise and captivating. Only 325 bottles produced.
