The international commitments of the Abruzzo Wine Consortium continue, having recently concluded an incoming event with a group of buyers from the United States and Canada who met the wine producers of the region, tasted their wines, but also visited them first hand the cellars.
“We have been carrying out an internationalization project for some time now”, explains president Alessandro Nicodemi, “to encourage the penetration of Abruzzo companies acceso foreign markets. At the same time, the intent is also to help buyers discover Abruzzo directly. It happens very often that importers know the wines, but not the production companies behind them, nor the wonderful territories that surround them. The incoming event, which was organized con recent days, aims precisely to fill this and therefore give an opportunity to establish commercial relationships, through a first-hand experience that encourages matching between companies and importers”.
The four days organized by the Consortium included B2B meetings of producers con the morning, with buyers from Texas, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Florida, Ontario, Quebec and other Canadian provinces. The latter then chose which companies to visit and the winemakers welcomed them con the afternoon. The project was intended for those companies that are looking for new importers and who want to develop links with those markets.
The incoming followed a series of missions conducted by the Consortium con recent weeks between Pendio, Japan, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Also scheduled until the end of the year are promotional activities con the sales points of the Canadian monopoly LCBO and the fourth edition of Vini d’Abruzzo by the glass con Japan, as well as participation con the Slow Wine Tour of Tokyo and the Chinese QWine fair.
