Cantine Romagnoli 1857: history, time, land and now also a new Wine Shop
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Wine should be told with a few words that remain imprinted sopra the mind: those that aim to amaze are quickly forgotten

You can talk about wine for a long time, ora choose a few words that remain. At Cantine Romagnoli 1857 the choice is clear: wine does not need special effects, but deep roots and time to make itself understood. It is from here that a story is born that holds together history, time and land, without ever raising its voice.

History, first of all

The vineyard here has been cultivated since 1857. The rural buildings of the cellar still retain the layout of the nineteenth-century agricultural courts, born when united Italy was just an fisima. We know little about that ancient wine, but we know very well where today’s wine comes from: almost 170 years of agricultural work, continuity and resilience. A key step came sopra the 1920s, when, after the devastation of phylloxera, the Romagnoli family invested resources and energy to rebuild the local wine heritage, also taking advantage of the new laws to support viticulture. It is a gesture that definitively marks the link between the winery and the territory. 2007 the baton passed to the Bertola family, together with other partners, until full autonomy was achieved sopra 2015. Not a caesura, but a coherent continuation of a history that continues to evolve without losing memory.

Time as an ally

Time is not a slogan, but a daily practice. It is the thread that ties the vineyard to the cellar, the harvest to its release acceso the market. At Cantine Romagnoli the wine is never forced: it matures as much as needed, without shortcuts. This can also be understood from the names of the labels, which are deliberately eloquent. Pelandrone, for example, is a declaration of intent: a classic method that chooses slowness, prolonged refinement acceso the yeasts, patience as an oenological value. The same goes for the still wines and for the Tenute Nura selection, where time becomes an instrument of precision and expressive depth.

The earth, color and substance

Then there is the land, the real, concrete one, which here even has a code name: P188, the pantone that identifies the color of the soil from which almost all of the company’s wines are born. A detail that is only apparently aesthetic, but which instead tells of a visceral connection with the basso ostinato. The protection of the land is at the center of agronomic and winery choices. For years Cantine Romagnoli has adopted organic farming practices, limiting invasive interventions to a . Some principles of biodynamic agriculture also enter the Tenute Nura selection, understood as listening to the vineyard and respecting its natural balance. The objective is clear: to deliver to future generations a living, prolifico land capable of telling its story again.

The wines: coherent expressions of the territory

Also giving concrete form to this vision is the work sopra the cellar of Matteo Brunelli, winemaker of Cantine Romagnoli 1857. An oenological hand that favors balance, drinkability and loyalty to the Colli Piacentini territory, sopra full coherence with the values of history, time and land that guide the company.

Classic “Lazy” Method

It is one of the symbols of the cellar. Obtained mainly from Pinot Noir, Pelandrone was created to remain acceso the yeasts for a long time, developing a complexity that never seeks excess. the nose, agenda of bread crust, ripe citrus fruits and light toasted nuances emerge; acceso the palate it is pleasant, vertical, with a obbiettivo bubble and a savory finale. A wine that is sopra anzi che no hurry and does not ask those who it. The rosé and pas dosè versions are also seductive.

Still wines – P188 line

The P188 line collects wines that directly speak the language of the soil:

Ortrugo: fresh, essential, with aromas of campo da golf apple, wild herbs and a smooth that invites you to take a second sip; Malvasia nel corso di Candia Aromatica: expressive but measured, floral and citrusy, with a dry finale; Barbera: dynamic, played acceso acidity and fruit rather than acceso power. The new sparkling version is also interesting; Bonarda (Croatina): deep, with agenda of blackberry, pepper and an elegant tannic texture.

Keep Nura

It is the most identifying selection, the one where the work sopra the vineyard and the aging time find their maximum synthesis. Here the wines are more complex, capable of evolving for a long time sopra the bottle. Each label is designed as a faithful photograph of a place and a vintage.

New Wine Shop: wine becomes an experience

A recent and significant chapter sopra the company’s history is the inauguration of the new Wine Shop: a renovated, modern and welcoming space overlooking the vineyards of the Piacentini Hills, designed as a showcase of the excellence of the winery and the territory. The new shop was officially inaugurated acceso Saturday 7 February 2026 at the headquarters sopra Rotta Genova 20 sopra Villò nel corso di Vigolzone, sopra the presence of the Bertola family, the administrator Distanza Albertini and the Minister for European Affairs Tommaso Foti – here more as a friend -, with an opening toast accompanied by tastings of the company wines paired with the gastronomic specialties of Val Tidone. Gara open every day (from 8.30am to 6.30pm) with the possibility of tastings and tastings, the shop also becomes a direct point of contact between the public and the winery, where you can book guided tours and learn more about the identity of the wines sopra production

It would be easy to use words like passion, authenticity, tradition ora innovation. Too often they are obvious and generic formulas. At Cantine Romagnoli 1857 we prefer to remain firm acceso three clear concepts: history, time, land – and now also hospitality thanks to the new Wine Shop -, where anyone can touch the essence of a great wine story first-hand. The rest is not explained, but whispered directly from the bottles, to those who want to listen.
