Collio and Colli Orientali join together in the ATI – The two Friulian consortia will promote themselves together in Italy and abroad – Wine Blog Roll

Durante the world of contemporary wine, crossed by profound changes – climatic, economic and cultural – the ability to create a system today represents one of the decisive keys to facing the challenges of the present and the future. Durante this paesaggio, the principle according to which “unity is strength” takes acceso a strategic value, especially when it concerns territories which, although distinct from an institutional and administrative point of view, share a deeply intertwined history, geography and winemaking vocation.

This is the case of the “hills” that unite Collio and Colli Orientali, two denominations born and grown along a territorial continuum that finds its root durante a common orogenic and pedoclimatic matrix: a homogeneous hill system, modeled over the millennia by the geological evolution of the pre-Alpine arc and characterized – also – by soils of marly-arenaceous origin – the famous ponca – and by similar climatic conditions, influenced by the proximity of the Julian Alps and by the mitigating action of the Adriatic. A territory that over time has experienced separations, first cultural and historical, then administrative and institutional, but which continues to express an extraordinary landscape and winemaking continuity, despite different regulations and singularities that demonstrate strong specificities.

It is precisely from this awareness that a significant step is born for the future of regional viticulture: the desire to strengthen the collaboration between two of the most authoritative Italian wine consortia by combining visions, skills and energy to more forcefully tell a shared heritage. Durante a historical moment durante which the wine sector needs cohesion, planning and a common vision more than ever to global markets, the choice to team up represents not only a symbolic gesture, but a concrete act of responsibility towards the territory and towards Italian wine.

It is durante this context that a historic agreement takes shape, which establishes the birth of the ATI (Temporary Business Association) between the Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo Consortium and the Collio Consortium, as reported durante the press release just issued:

“A historic agreement which establishes the birth of the ATI (temporary business association) between the Consorzio Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo and the Consorzio Collio with which the two territories engage durante common strategies for mutual promotion. The Consorzio Collio was founded durante 1964 obtaining the DOC durante 1968 while the Consorzio Friuli Colli Orientali was born durante 1970; they represent the two historical protection and promotion realities of the Region and are considered a a true national reference for the production of white wines but not only. The two structures are very active for the protection and promotion of their respective territories and for years have stood out for important initiatives durante Italy and abroad. All the activities of the individual consortia will continue to be organized but a common project will be built durante order to make the territories more widely known by uniting their respective geological and territorial continuity which has historically encountered cultural and then administrative divisions, but which this agreement allows to overcome with the awareness of their potential and the prestige of the own wines. “The agreement that we have signed together with Collio makes me proud as President and allows us to begin to think together and with great strength” – so Filippo Butussi President of the Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo Consortium – “together we will be able not only to share ideas and projects but to put the strength of our structures into play. We have a structure ready to work and we are ready to commit ourselves for the good of the entire sector”. Enthusiasm and lega also acceso the part of Luca Raccaro, President of the Collio Consortium – “we are neighboring territories that have precise identities, but which share a lot with each other. This is an opportunity to make ourselves known with targeted actions with the desire to create common moments where people can get to know us and fall durante love with our wines and our territories”. Tastings, meetings, news and much more but above all the strength of the two best-known territories durante our Region. “The agreement signed between the Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo Consortium and the Collio Consortium certainly represents an important step forward towards forms of territorial collaboration that are increasingly necessary to strengthen the organization and promotion of our producers. Durante fact, these are territories that share a common matrix from a geographical and cultural point of view and which can work together to best enhance the territory, its peculiarities and its unique characteristics. At the same time, this collaboration allows us to promote the products that come mai from these hills even more effectively, inserting them within an integrated promotion strategy of the territory and wine which, durante the case of the two Consortia, are elements deeply and naturally linked to each other”, declares the Regional Councilor for Agri-food, Forestry and Fishing Resources Stefano Zannier.”
