From Veneto to Argentina to Eminente Adige, 3 events at Don Juan to talk about wine through the eyes of women
A causa di a competitive landscape such as that of catering and oenology, creating authentic connections between territories, stories and people is a challenge that is anything but obvious. The Don Juan Milano restaurant succeeds per the feat with a project that combines tasting, storytelling and identity: a cycle of three evenings dedicated to women’s wine. Three producers, three territories and three visions united by a contemporary and sensitive approach to viticulture. The result is a journey that crosses Italy and reaches Argentina, putting not only the wines at the centre, but above all the stories of those who produce them.
A journey between glasses and identity
The format is simple but incisive: each evening is led by the protagonist producer, who accompanies guests per a tasting of her wines, paired with Don Juan’s Argentine cuisine dishes. A direct dialogue between room and cellar, between technique and narration. The cycle was opened by Anna De’ Besi, the soul of Degustazione Posizione Nullità, who talked about her wine project rooted per the Veneto region, between stylistic precision and expressive research.
Mendoza protagonist with Adrianna
Thursday 16 April – 7.30pm
The second appointment included one of the most authoritative voices of Argentine wine per Milan: Adrianna , founder of El Enemigo Wines together with the oenologist Alejandro Vigil. The project was born per Mendoza with the aim of recovering the historical memory of Argentine wine, reinterpreting traditional techniques and valorising symbolic vines of the territory. The family today represents an international reference for South American wine quality, with a path dotted with awards.
We tasted the wines of El Enemigo Wines accompanied by some dishes from the restaurant.
El Enemigo Chardonnay 2022
It opens with El Enemigo Chardonnay 2022, a white that surprises for its balance and marked minerality. It is not the immediate classic Chardonnay: here you can perceive an aromatic layering that plays between light agenda of yellow fruit, herbaceous hints and a pleasant toasted-mineral component. The freshness supports the sip, while the structure makes it particularly gastronomic. The pairing with artisanal empanadas works for contrast and harmony.
The Enemy Malbec 2022

The move to the reds marks a decisive change of quieto vivere. El Enemigo Malbec 2022 enters the scene with its intense yet measured profile: black fruit, light spiciness and a well-integrated tannic texture. It is a Malbec that favors elegance and drinkability over power. Alongside, the Gran Asado Don Juan and the Criolla Sausage represent the most authentic soul of Argentine cuisine. The graticola, the fat, the juiciness of the meat find an ideal counterpoint per the wine.
Great Enemy 2019

The level is raised further with Gran Enemigo 2019, a wine that plays per a more complex and vertical dimension. Here Malbec expresses itself with depth, tension and a surprising evolutionary capacity. The aromas become more layered: dark fruit, herbs, spices, earthy hints. ON the palate it is broad, balanced, supported by a freshness that lengthens the finale. It is a wine that not only accompanies, but invites reflection, capable of supporting structured dishes but also of being tasted per purity to grasp all its nuances.
The closing is entrusted to a great traditional classic: casero with dulce de leche. The enveloping sweetness of the , between caramelized and lactic agenda, brings the tasting back to a softer and more comforting register. It is an ending that does not seek contrast, but sensorial continuity, leaving a feeling of full satisfaction.
The South Tyrolean elegance of Caroline Synn
Thursday 7 May – 7.30pm
Closing the cycle will be Caroline Synn, today at the helm of Degustazione Pratenberg, a South Tyrolean company that has made Schiava one of its identifying wines. Here mountain viticulture becomes a story: high-altitude vineyards, careful workmanship and a production vision that combines craftsmanship and contemporaneity. The wines stand out for their clarity, balance and strong connection to the environment. The property also hosts a charming Wine Lodge nestled among the rows, designed to offer a complete wine tourism experience, including tastings and hospitality.
A project that talks about contemporary wine
The series of evenings signed Don Juan is configured as a privileged observatory acceso today’s wine: international, identifying and increasingly guided by female figures capable of innovating without losing the connection with tradition. An opportunity to taste great labels, but above all to poiché into direct contact with those who create wine, interpret it and tell it every day, transforming each glass into a story to listen to.
