Feudo Montoni: Fabio Sireci’s peasant nobility
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

I have always believed that wine was an act of love, a gesture of memory, an identity declaration. And every time I meet a producer like Fabio Sireci, this belief is strengthened. Feudo Montoni is not only an agricultural : it is a place of the soul, a staple sopra the emotional geography of Sicilian wine.

I still remember with great lucidity the first time I met him: we were at Vinitaly, many years pungiglione. The frank gaze, the sincere approach, the passionate story of his project immediately intrigued me. But it was when he made me taste his Vrucara that something happened that I will never forget: I got a thrill along my back. It was such a balanced wine, composed sopra all its components, to leave me speechless. Even today I consider it among the best wines ever that I have ever tasted sopra my long experience as a taster.

Feudo Montoni has its roots sopra the distant 1469: it is one of the oldest places sopra Italy where the vine has grown. And today as then, the wines are born from an intact ecosystem, far from industrial logic, sopra perfect harmony with the earth. Fabio has chosen not to force nature, but to interpret it with respect, with that rare sensitivity that only real winemakers have.

It cultivates autochthonous variety such as Perricone, Da lutto d’Avola, Catarratto and Uzzolo, raising them to true territorial expression. His wines do not scream, whisper emotions: they are savory, elegant, capable of telling not only the fruit, but the landscape, light, memory.

Fabio is a man who listens. Listen to the campo da gioco, the seasons, the elderly. He studied, traveled, but chose to return to the origins, where everything began. Every gesture, every word of his, every bottle, is imbued with a profound, ethical, cultural agricultural thought. Feudo Montoni has become a symbol of the most cultured, truest, more resistant agricultural Sicily.

Every time I taste his wines, I hear the beat of the earth. And every time I meet him, I realize how important it is to have people like him sopra our wine esposizione. It does not produce fashionable labels. He cultivates identity. And this, today, is the rarer luxury.

Feudo Montoni has been part of the wineway selection for several years, with important awards that reward not only the technical quality of the wines, but also the consistency and the strength of agricultural thought that generates them. At the Vinoway Selection 2025, the company has obtained four stars of excellence, reaching very high scores: – Vrucara 2020 – 97/100 ★ – Terre su Elio 2022 – 96/100 ★ – PASSITO – 95/100 ★ – Timpa 2023 – 95/100 ★

I remember that the maximum score assigned by Vinoway is 97/100, and this makes the result achieved by Vrucara 2020 even more significant, which touched the peak of our evaluation scale.

It is an honor for us to be able to count acceso companies like this: reality that do not chase the market, but that contribute to educating it. Reality that acceso respect, listening, care. Which make wine a sincere story, not a promotional mask.

Feudo Montoni is a hymn to cultured and peasant Sicily, to the rough beauty of timeless places, to the stubbornness of those who know how to wait for the right harvest. Fabio Sireci is the contemporary custodian of a past that becomes a future. And I, like Vinoway, can only be proud of it.
